FiberXers bring back Franklin

Converge is turning to a familiar face in hopes of jumpstarting its campaign, bringing back Jamaal Franklin as its new import after parting ways with Jalen Hudson just four games into the 2026 PBA Season 50 Governors' Cup.

The FiberXers have already completed the paperwork with the league, clearing the way for Franklin's return to the franchise he last suited up for three years ago.

Hudson showed promise in his debut, posting 20 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, but struggled to consistently produce afterward. He wrapped up his brief stint averaging 12.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists, with his lowest output coming in Converge's narrow win over Terrafirma, where he managed only two points.

Converge now hopes Franklin can provide the spark it enjoyed during his first tour of duty in the PBA. In the 2023 Governors' Cup, the former NBA forward averaged 34.0 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 7.6 assists while steering the FiberXers to a 6-5 record and a playoff berth before their quarterfinal exit.

Since then, Franklin has continued to build his international résumé, suiting up for Adelaide in Australia's National Basketball League before moving to the Guangzhou Loong Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association.

The FiberXers are expected to reintroduce Franklin on Tuesday when they face TNT at Ninoy Aquino Stadium, hoping his familiarity with the team can immediately help steady their campaign.
