Arit Kayadibi is a football club that embodies the pure, unpolished spirit of Turkish amateur football. Based in the picturesque mountain town of Kayadibi, in the northern region of Turkey near the Black Sea coast, the club has become a source of immense local pride. Currently competing in the Türkiye Bölgesel Amatör Lig (Regional Amateur League), the team represents everything that makes Turkish football so passionately followed outside the big cities.

Club Background and Foundation

Founded in 1978 as a neighbourhood sports initiative, Arit Kayadibi began as a casual group of friends playing on a dirt pitch after work. The club's name is a combination of the district name "Arit" and the village of Kayadibi, and it has been proudly carried into every footballing competition the town has entered. Despite its modest status, the club has a well-organised administration and a fiercely loyal support base that travels in numbers to away matches, especially for local derbies against nearby town rivals.

The team plays its home matches at the Kayadibi Şehir Stadyumu, a 2,200-seater stadium nestled on a hillside. The natural setting provides a unique atmosphere—fog often rolls in during early spring matches, creating one of the most evocative settings in Turkish regional football. The stadium's standing terraces are always full for cup matches, and the club mascot, a black bear named "Kara", honours the wildlife of the surrounding forests.

Local Rivalries and League Performance

In the Regional Amateur League, Arit Kayadibi has established itself as a stubborn and physical side, difficult to beat on its own turf. The team's primary rivalry is with Dereli Gençlik, a club from the neighbouring valley. The "Black Mountain Derby" is the highlight of the season and often results in tense, fiercely contested matches with local pride at stake.

In recent seasons, Arit Kayadibi has finished in the top half of the league table, with last season's fourth-place finish in the group being their best result to date. The club's focus on signing locally born players has given the squad a strong sense of identity, although they occasionally bring in an experienced older professional from larger cities to add tactical discipline.

Style of Play and Key Figures

On the pitch, Arit Kayadibi are known for a compact 4-4-2 formation and an aggressive, no-nonsense approach. Their game is built on direct passing and quick set-pieces, with a particular strength in offensive corners. The current squad features a mix of experienced veterans and talented teenagers from the club's own youth academy.

• Hasan Yılmazer – the veteran captain and defensive midfielder, widely regarded as one of the most consistent players in the league.
• Emre Durmuş – a young striker who has scored 12 goals this season and is the club's top scorer.
• Serkan Akbulut – the goalkeeper, known for his penalty-saving ability and strong leadership of the back line.

Community and Future Prospects

Off the pitch, Arit Kayadibi serves as the beating heart of its community. The club runs youth training camps for children in the region and cooperates with local schools to keep football alive during the harsh winter months. Kayadibi's residents see the team as a unifying force that brings together families across generations.

While the financial gap to professional leagues remains significant, the club's leadership dreams of one day reaching the TFF 3. Lig (third tier). With rising attendance figures and consistent results, that ambition is not unrealistic. Arit Kayadibi is exactly the type of club that makes Turkish football so deeply authentic—a team where hearts matter more than budgets.
