Unterhaching and Schweinfurt 05 played out a tense 1-1 draw in the German Regionalliga Bayern on October 3, 2026, at the Alpenbauer Sportpark. A match of few clear chances was decided by two moments of quality, leaving both managers with mixed feelings as they shared the spoils.

Match Overview

Both sides came into the game with hopes of climbing the table, but the first half was a cagey affair dominated by midfield battles and disciplined defending. Schweinfurt struck first against the run of play, but Unterhaching responded after the break with a well-worked equaliser. Neither team could find a winner in the closing stages, though both had half-chances to snatch all three points.

Key Moments

• 34' – 0-1 Schweinfurt 05: Lukas Rauch pounced on a loose ball in the box and fired low into the bottom corner.
• 72' – 1-1 Unterhaching: Simon Stehle curled a superb effort into the far top corner from 20 yards after a patient build-up.
• 88' – Chance for Unterhaching: Stehle rattled the crossbar with a free-kick as the hosts pushed for a late winner.

Tactical Story

Unterhaching lined up in a 4-4-2, looking to use their wingers to stretch Schweinfurt’s narrow defence. However, the visitors’ midfield diamond congested the central areas, forcing Unterhaching to play wide, where crosses were comfortably dealt with. Schweinfurt looked dangerous on the counter, with Rauch and partner Kevin Fery combining well. The second half saw Unterhaching push their full-backs higher, which created more space but also left them vulnerable to swift breaks. Ultimately, both defences held firm.

Standout Players

Schweinfurt’s goalkeeper, Daniel Kessler, was in inspired form, making three crucial saves to deny Unterhaching a second goal. Lukas Rauch’s tireless running and clinical finish made him the visitors’ best outfield player. For Unterhaching, Simon Stehle was the creative spark, and his goal was a moment of genuine class. Centre-back Christoph Ehring also impressed with a composed display at the back.

Season Impact

The draw keeps Unterhaching in mid-table, though they will feel two points slipped away given their second-half dominance. Schweinfurt 05 remain just above the relegation playoff places, and this away point could prove valuable come the end of the season. Both sides now face important fixtures as they look to build momentum in a tightly packed Regionalliga Bayern.
