Match Overview

The hosts made the perfect start and opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Tom Müller finished a flowing move with a low strike. Hallescher doubled their lead in the 49th minute through Niklas Körber, who headed home from a corner. At that point, the home side looked in control and appeared likely to take all three points.

They changed their shape, pushed more players forward and pulled one back in the 71st minute when Marcel Hildebrandt finished from close range after a goalmouth scramble. Hallescher retreated deeper, and Lokomotive found the equaliser in the 92nd minute through Janik Schulze, whose shot from the edge of the area found the bottom corner.

Key Moments

• 12′ – Hallescher goal: Tom Müller opened the scoring with a low finish after a quick attacking move.
• 49′ – Hallescher second: Niklas Körber headed in from a corner to make it 2-0.
• 71′ – Lokomotive lifeline: Marcel Hildebrandt converted from close range after sustained pressure.

Tactical Story

Hallescher FC controlled the first hour with a compact midfield and quick transitions. Their early goal gave them confidence, and the second from a set piece looked like it would be enough. However, their decision to sit deeper invited pressure, and Lokomotive took full advantage.

Lokomotive’s second-half adjustments were crucial. They increased the tempo, won more second balls and got more bodies into the box. The late equaliser came from a moment of individual quality, but it was built on the sustained pressure that had been growing since the 60th minute.

Standout Performers

Müller was excellent for Hallescher in the first half, linking play and scoring the opener. Hildebrandt changed the game for Lokomotive after coming on, while Schulze showed composure for the dramatic late goal. Both goalkeepers were busy in a frantic final 20 minutes.

Season Impact

The draw feels more like a win for Lokomotive and two points dropped for Hallescher. In a competitive Regionalliga table, such late swings can have a significant impact on promotion and playoff ambitions. Hallescher will need to manage leads better in the closing stages, while Lokomotive will take confidence from their resilience and never-say-die attitude.
