Ibis SC edged Guarany de Camaragibe 3-2 in a pulsating Campeonato Pernambucano encounter, with a late goal settling a match that swung one way and then the other. The home side built a two-goal advantage, survived a spirited Guarany comeback and found the winner in the closing stages to claim three valuable points.

Match overview

Ibis SC started brightly and imposed themselves on the game with quick passing and aggressive pressing. Guarany de Camaragibe struggled to settle early and were punished when Ibis turned possession into a first-half lead. The home side doubled their advantage before the break, and at that stage the match looked to be moving comfortably in their favour.

Guarany had other ideas. The visitors improved after half-time, found a route back into the contest and equalised with a well-worked move that exposed gaps in the Ibis defence. Just when the game seemed destined for a draw, Ibis found one final attacking moment and secured the win.

Key moments

• 8th minute: Ibis SC opened the scoring with a crisp finish after a flowing move down the right.
• 27th minute: The lead was doubled when a midfield turnover led to a rapid counter-attack and a composed finish.
• 44th minute: Guarany de Camaragibe pulled one back with a header from a deep cross.
• 67th minute: Guarany equalised after a sustained spell of pressure, finishing from the edge of the box.
• 82nd minute: Ibis SC grabbed the winner with a close-range effort following a corner-kick scramble.

Tactical story

Ibis SC’s plan was built on width and quick transitions. Their full-backs pushed high, the midfield rotated well and the front line attacked the space behind Guarany’s defence. For the first half-hour, that approach worked almost perfectly, giving Ibis control of both the scoreboard and the tempo.

Guarany de Camaragibe adjusted after the break, pressing higher and forcing Ibis into mistakes. The visitors’ midfield began to win more second balls, and their equaliser came from exactly that kind of pressure. Ibis responded by slowing the game down and returning to set pieces as a source of danger, which ultimately produced the decisive goal.

Standout players

Ibis SC’s attacking midfielder was at the heart of most of their best moves, linking play and creating chances in the final third. The striker who opened the scoring set the tone with sharp movement, while the defender who cleared several late Guarany deliveries protected the narrow win. Guarany’s No. 10 was his side’s best outlet, driving forward and unsettling the home defence throughout the second half.

Table and season impact

The 3-2 victory gives Ibis SC an important boost in the Campeonato Pernambucano standings and reinforces their competitiveness in a tightly contested state league. Guarany de Camaragibe will take encouragement from their comeback but will rue the defensive lapses that allowed Ibis to score three times. In a competition where momentum matters, Ibis’s late winner could prove valuable as the season develops.
