Kama bounced back from a second-set setback to defeat Energostroy Moscow 3-1 in Vysshaya Liga A on October 23, 2026, taking control of the match with a strong serving and blocking display in the latter half.

The away victory came with set scores of 22-25, 25-20, 19-25, 21-25, a result that underlined Kama’s ability to reset after Energostroy briefly levelled the contest. In a league where away wins are hard-earned, Kama’s composure in the third and fourth sets stood out.

Match overview

Kama started the brighter of the two sides, edging a tight opening set 25-22. Energostroy Moscow responded well in the second, finding more joy through the middle and improving their transition defence to take it 25-20. That equaliser raised the home crowd, but it also triggered Kama’s best stretch of the match.

In the third set, Kama reasserted control from the service line. Energostroy’s reception became less stable, limiting the home setter’s options and allowing Kama’s block to set up against predictable attacks. Kama took the set 25-19 and then held off a late Energostroy push in the fourth to close it 25-21.

Set-by-set story

• Set 1: Energostroy 22-25 Kama — Kama edged the opening set with better error control.
• Set 2: Energostroy 25-20 Kama — the hosts levelled through improved middle attack and transition play.
• Set 3: Energostroy 19-25 Kama — Kama’s serving pressure created separation.
• Set 4: Energostroy 21-25 Kama — Kama held firm in the closing rallies to secure the win.

Tactical turning point

The match shifted in the third set when Kama began targeting Energostroy’s reception with a more varied serve. That pressure forced Energostroy into slower attacking sequences, giving Kama’s blockers time to read the play. Once Kama established a lead, their setter managed the game well, mixing the middle attack with back-row options to keep the home block guessing.

Energostroy’s best moments came when they controlled first contact and got their middle blockers involved early. But those spells were too brief. Kama’s defensive coverage in the back court improved as the match wore on, and the visitors won several long rallies that had seemed destined to go Energostroy’s way.

Standout performers

Kama’s outside hitters carried the attacking load with patience, especially in the third and fourth sets. The team’s serving specialist also made an impact, producing runs that changed the momentum at key moments. Energostroy’s libero kept the hosts alive with several impressive defensive plays, while their opposite hitter was the main scoring threat throughout.

The difference was Kama’s balance. When Energostroy managed to slow one attacking route, Kama found another. That versatility proved decisive in the final two sets.

Season impact

Kama leave Moscow with three points and a useful away win that should strengthen their position in the Vysshaya Liga A standings. Energostroy Moscow, meanwhile, are left to reflect on a match that slipped away after a promising second set. The home side showed enough fight to suggest they can respond, but their reception consistency will need to improve in upcoming fixtures.
