• Set 1: Barnaul 25-20 Tekstilshchik
• Set 2: Barnaul 22-25 Tekstilshchik
• Set 3: Barnaul 19-25 Tekstilshchik
• Set 4: Barnaul 21-25 Tekstilshchik

Key moments

Barnaul’s first-set win was built on strong wing attacking and a few early blocks that gave the home side confidence. Tekstilshchik were competitive but could not quite match Barnaul’s efficiency in the closing points. The second set was much tighter. Tekstilshchik stayed level through the middle of the set and then made a decisive move late, taking the set 25-22 to level the match.

The third set proved to be the turning point. Tekstilshchik established an early advantage and never let Barnaul back into the set. Their block slowed Barnaul’s attack, and their serving forced a series of difficult receptions. Barnaul tried to respond in the fourth, but Tekstilshchik maintained a narrow lead through the set and closed it out with a composed final run.

Tactical story

Tekstilshchik’s improvement after the first set was rooted in serve-receive stability. With cleaner first contact, their setter was able to involve the middle attackers more often, which stretched Barnaul’s block and created better one-on-one opportunities on the wings. The visitors also defended well in transition, keeping rallies alive and forcing Barnaul into extra swings.

Barnaul’s best moments came when their opposite hitter was able to attack with space and their block set up early. But as the match progressed, Tekstilshchik’s serving made Barnaul’s attacking patterns more predictable. The home side’s error count rose in the third and fourth sets, while Tekstilshchik grew more confident in the decisive phases.

Standout performers

Tekstilshchik’s outside hitter delivered a strong all-round performance, contributing important kills in each of the final three sets. The middle blocker was influential at the net, particularly in the third set when the visitors pulled away. Barnaul’s opposite hitter carried much of the home side’s scoring load, while their libero produced several committed defensive plays to keep the contest competitive.

Vysshaya Liga A impact

The 3-1 win gives Tekstilshchik a valuable road result in Vysshaya Liga A and reinforces their ability to respond after losing the opening set. For Barnaul, the defeat highlights the need for greater consistency once the opponent begins to control the serve-receive battle. Tekstilshchik will look to build on the victory in their next fixture, while Barnaul will aim to recapture the attacking rhythm that powered their first-set display.
