Chemik Police Rally Past Mogilno Women in Four Sets

Chemik Police Women recovered from a first-set setback to beat Mogilno Women 3-1 in TAURON Liga Women action on 25 October 2026. Mogilno took the opener 25-22, but Chemik responded with sets of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-21 to secure an important away victory.

The result underlined Chemik’s title credentials and exposed the fine margins that separate the top sides from the rest of the league. Mogilno showed flashes of real quality, especially in the first set, but could not sustain their level once Chemik tightened their serving and blocking.

Match Overview

Mogilno Women started the match with energy and intent. Their serve-receive held up well in the early stages, and they used the middle attack effectively to keep Chemik’s block guessing. A late run in the first set gave them a deserved lead and a platform to build on.

Chemik, however, responded like a team with title ambitions. They increased the pace of their serving in the second set, disrupted Mogilno’s reception and began to dominate the net. The third set was the turning point: Mogilno led 23-22, but Chemik scored the final three points to take a 2-1 lead. From there, the visitors controlled the fourth set and closed out the match.

Key Moments

The first set was tightly contested until Mogilno broke away at 20-20. A block on Chemik’s opposite hitter and a well-placed ace gave the home side a 23-20 lead, and they held on to take the set 25-22.

In the second set, Chemik raced to an 8-4 lead and never looked back. The third set was the most dramatic. Mogilno fought back from 18-15 down to level at 23-23, but Chemik’s block produced two crucial points and a Mogilno attacking error handed the visitors the set. The fourth set was decided by a 6-1 Chemik run that turned a 12-12 tie into an 18-13 lead.

Tactical Story

Chemik’s adjustment after the first set was decisive. They began serving more aggressively to Mogilno’s left-side passers, forcing the home team into predictable outside attacks. With Mogilno’s middle attack neutralised, Chemik’s block could focus on the pins, and their defence behind the block was excellent.

Mogilno tried to change the rhythm by using more back-row attacks and quick sets to the middle, but Chemik’s libero handled the increased defensive workload well. Chemik’s setter also did a good job of distributing the offence, keeping Mogilno’s block moving from pin to pin.

Standout Players

Julia Nowak led Chemik with 22 points, including several important kills in the third-set comeback. Middle blocker Anna Kaczmarek added six blocks and was a constant presence at the net, while setter Marta Wiśniewska finished with 41 assists.

For Mogilno Women, Karolina Pilarz top-scored with 17 points and Natalia Wójcik added 12. Mogilno’s first-set performance showed what they are capable of, but they will need more consistency in reception and side-out play to compete with the league’s best.

League Impact

The win keeps Chemik Police Women firmly in the early-season title conversation. Their ability to recover from a set down and win the tight third set is the mark of a team that expects to compete at the top. Mogilno Women, meanwhile, can take encouragement from their opening set but must find a way to maintain that level across four sets.
