Match Overview

The clash, played at the Hala Sportowa in Toruń, saw the hosts control the tempo from the opening serve. Anioły Toruń imposed themselves at the net and behind the service line, never allowing Plock to settle into a rhythm. The straight-sets win (25-19, 25-21, 25-17) reflects the gap in execution between the two sides on the night.

With this result, Anioły Toruń collect three crucial points in the TAURON I. Liga table, while Plock remain searching for consistency on the road.

Set-by-Set Breakdown

• First set (25-19): Toruń raced to an early 8-4 lead, powered by aggressive jump serves that disrupted Plock's reception. The visitors briefly closed the gap to 14-12, but a four-point serving run from Toruń's captain restored control. Solid blocking in the middle sealed the opener.
• Second set (25-21): Plock improved their attack efficiency, with their opposite hitter finding angles. However, Toruń's defense remained resilient, and a series of long rallies ended in the hosts' favor. A late ace from the outside hitter gave Toruń a 2-0 lead.
• Third set (25-17): The home side stepped on the gas, dominating at the net with five blocks in the set. Plock struggled to side-out, and Toruń's setter varied the offense beautifully, involving the middles and back-row attackers. The match ended on a powerful cross-court kill from the left wing.

Tactical Story

Anioły Toruń's game plan centered on high-pressure serving and disciplined block-defense coordination. Their serve consistently targeted Plock's libero, forcing predictable first contacts and limiting the visitors' middle attack. Defensively, Toruń's backcourt players read Plock's tips and roll shots effectively, turning defense into transition points.

Plock, meanwhile, struggled with reception consistency and committed too many unforced errors at critical moments. Their blocking scheme could not contain Toruń's varied attack, especially the quick middle slides and back-row pipe attacks.

Standout Players

• Anioły Toruń – Outside Hitter (MVP): Led all scorers with 18 points, including three aces and two blocks. Her aggressive serving in the first set set the tone.
• Anioły Toruń – Middle Blocker: Contributed 10 points, with four blocks that stifled Plock's opposite hitter.
• Anioły Toruń – Setter: Distributed the offense efficiently, keeping Plock's block guessing all night.
• Plock – Opposite Hitter: Finished with 12 points but was forced into low-percentage swings due to poor passing.
