Key Moments

Gunma Bank took the opening set with a composed finish, but Prestige Aranmare answered well in the second. Prestige’s serve began to cause problems, and a series of long rallies ended with the visitors taking a narrow 25-23 set to level the match. That period represented the visitors’ best stretch of the afternoon.

The third set proved decisive. With the score tied at 12-12, Gunma Bank went on a 7-1 run, mixing aces with transition kills and a pair of blocks that forced Prestige into rushed attacks. The home side never allowed the lead to slip and took the set comfortably.

In the fourth set, Gunma Bank broke away midway through and maintained a three-to-four-point cushion. Prestige threatened briefly at 19-17, but Gunma Bank closed with a steady run of side-outs and a final block at the net to seal the 3-1 win.

Tactical Story

Gunma Bank’s adjustment at the net was the defining tactical feature. After Prestige found success through its right-side attack in the second set, Gunma shifted its block to close that angle and forced more swings into the middle of the court, where the backcourt defense was waiting.

The home team also improved its first contact after the second set. Better reception allowed the setter to involve the middle attackers more often, which stretched Prestige’s block and created cleaner opportunities for the outside hitters. Gunma’s service game became more aggressive without becoming reckless, producing a useful balance of pressure and control.

Standout Performers

Gunma Bank opposite hitter Haruka Saito led all scorers with 22 points, delivering key kills in each of the final two sets. Setter Nao Kimura guided the offense with smart distribution, while libero Yui Ishikawa produced several crucial digs that extended rallies and lifted the home crowd.

Prestige Aranmare’s Mizuki Aoki was the visitors’ most consistent attacking threat with 18 points, and her serving run in the second set briefly put Gunma Bank under real pressure. However, Prestige could not maintain that level once Gunma Bank tightened its block and reduced unforced errors.

Season Impact

The win gives Gunma Bank Green Wings Women three important points in the SV.League Women standings and reinforces their home-court strength. More importantly, it shows the team can recover within a match after losing momentum. Prestige Aranmare Women leave with a useful second-set performance but will need greater consistency in serve-receive and late-set execution to convert such efforts into points.
