The result was built on Gunma’s block-defense and service pressure, which grew more effective as the match progressed. Prestige Aranmare Women competed well in the opening two sets but were unable to maintain their attacking efficiency once Gunma tightened their defense in the third and fourth sets.

Key Moments

• First set, 21-21: Gunma won four of the final five points, capped by a block from Yuna Kato.
• Third set, 9-2 run: The Green Wings took command with aggressive serving and two early blocks.
• Fourth set, 18-15: Gunma held off Prestige’s comeback attempt with three consecutive transition points.

Tactical Story

Gunma’s serving strategy focused on disrupting Prestige’s outside attack, and it paid off particularly in the third set. By keeping Prestige out of system, Gunma’s block was able to set up more easily, leading to a string of defensive stops. The Green Wings also defended the floor well, extending rallies and forcing Prestige into impatient attacks.

Prestige Aranmare Women showed good resilience in the second set, using their own service pressure to create chances. However, their error count rose in the third and fourth sets, and they struggled to contain Rina Saito on the right side. Gunma’s setter did an excellent job distributing the attack, keeping the middle involved and opening space for the pins.

Standout Players

Rina Saito led Gunma Bank Green Wings Women with 22 points, delivering several key attacks in the closing stages. Mio Hayashi added 17 points and was effective from the left side, while Yuna Kato contributed five blocks. The Gunma defense also deserved credit for repeatedly turning Prestige attacks into scoring opportunities.

Kana Fujita top-scored for Prestige Aranmare Women with 18 points, and Emi Sato added 12. Prestige’s attacking duo caused problems in the first two sets, but their efficiency fell once Gunma increased their service pressure and block presence.

Season Impact

The win gives Gunma Bank Green Wings Women important momentum in the SV.League Women standings and shows their ability to close out matches after adversity. For Prestige Aranmare Women, the defeat highlights the need for greater consistency in reception and error control. Both sides will take clear lessons from a match that shifted decisively after the second set.
