Ub Women produced one of the cleanest performances of the Superliga Women round, sweeping ŽOK Spartak Subotica Women 3-0 at home with a controlled, error-light display. The sets finished 25-19, 25-16, 25-21, a scoreline that underlined Ub's dominance at the net and their composure in the tight moments of the third set.

Match overview

Ub set the tone from the first serve, applying consistent pressure with a deep, flat serve that disrupted Spartak Subotica's reception structure. The visitors never truly settled into their attacking rhythm, and Ub's block-defence system fed off that uncertainty, turning defensive touches into quick transition points. By the time Subotica found some fluency in the third set, the match was already slipping away.

Set-by-set breakdown

• Set 1 – 25-19 Ub: Early serving pressure opened a four-point gap that the hosts never surrendered.
• Set 2 – 25-16 Ub: The most one-sided set of the night, with Ub's block completely shutting down the wings.
• Set 3 – 25-21 Ub: Subotica improved markedly, but Ub found the big points at 21-21 to close it out.

Tactical story

What made this sweep so convincing was Ub's balance. Their setter distributed evenly across the front line, ensuring no single attacker was overworked, and the team's floor defence repeatedly extended rallies that Subotica expected to win. The visitors' best spells came when they shortened their swings and attacked off the block, but those adjustments arrived too late to change the outcome.

Standout performers

Ub's middle blockers were the story of the night, combining for a high number of stuff blocks and forcing Subotica into repeated tool attempts. Their captain led by example in the third set, scoring the decisive points when the visitors briefly threatened a comeback. Spartak Subotica's libero was arguably their best performer, keeping her side alive in several long rallies.

Season impact

A straight-sets home win gives Ub maximum points and a healthy set-ratio boost, which can matter enormously in a Superliga Women table that is often separated by fine margins. For Spartak Subotica, the priority is rebuilding reception consistency before the next round — the foundations were visible in the third set, but they need to last longer than one frame.
