Key moments

The first set was decided by a late 5-1 run from Moracha, capped by a powerful serve that forced an overpass and a decisive block. The second set was a tense affair, with Gimnazijalac saving two set points before Moracha’s opposite found the line with a sharp cross-court attack. Gimnazijalac carried that fight into the third set, taking an early lead and holding off Moracha’s comeback attempt. The fourth set was the response the home crowd wanted: Moracha jumped to a 9-4 lead and maintained a comfortable margin throughout.

Tactical story

Moracha Women’s block was the backbone of their performance. They read Gimnazijalac’s attack well and consistently forced the visitors into difficult angles, especially in the first and fourth sets. Moracha’s serving also created problems, disrupting Gimnazijalac’s first tempo and limiting their middle attack. The visitors adapted in the third set by using more high-ball attacks and targeting the deep corners, which helped them extend rallies. Moracha’s ability to adjust their defensive shape in the fourth set was crucial, as they regained control at the net and closed out the match with confidence.

Standout performers

Moracha’s opposite delivered several important points, particularly in the second set when the match was finely balanced. The middle blocker was excellent at the net, contributing both blocks and quick attacks. The libero also had a strong match, providing stability in serve-receive and keeping the team calm during Gimnazijalac’s third-set resurgence. For Gimnazijalac Women, the outside hitter was their most reliable scoring option, and the setter did well to keep the team competitive in the third set. In the end, Moracha had more firepower in the decisive moments.

Season impact

The win adds three points to Moracha Women’s Superliga Women total and gives them confidence ahead of their next fixtures. It was also a useful test of the team’s resilience, as they had to respond after losing the third set. Gimnazijalac Women will take encouragement from their fighting performance but will need to reduce errors and improve their serve-receive consistency. Both teams remain focused on the long campaign, with Moracha looking to build on a solid home victory and Gimnazijalac aiming to turn competitive spells into positive results.
