CPVC Volley Women completed a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Deya Volley Women in the Superliga Women on 27 October 2026. The visitors won 22-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20, 15-13 in a five-set thriller that swung back and forth until the final rally. Deya led 2-1 at one stage, but CPVC’s resilience, serving and improved block in the closing sets turned the match around.

Match overview

Deya Volley Women made the stronger start, taking a tight first set 25-22. The hosts were sharper in transition and found success through their outside hitters, who attacked with confidence against CPVC’s block. CPVC stayed close but could not quite find the defensive stop it needed at the end of the set.

CPVC responded well in the second set. The visitors increased their serving pressure and began to slow Deya’s attack, taking the set 25-22 to level the match. The third set was another tight affair, with both teams trading runs. Deya edged it 25-23, putting the hosts one set away from victory.

That was the turning point. CPVC raised its level in the fourth set, controlling the middle phase and forcing Deya into errors. The visitors took it 25-20 to send the match to a tie-break. In the deciding set, CPVC held a narrow lead for much of the frame, but Deya fought back to 13-13. CPVC kept its composure, won the next two points and sealed the match 15-13.

Key moments

• Third set, 23-23: Deya won the final two points to take a 2-1 lead and put CPVC under pressure.
• Fourth set, mid-set: CPVC’s block and serving run created the gap that carried the visitors to 25-20.
• Tie-break, 13-13: CPVC won the decisive two points with a composed sideout and a match-winning defensive play.

Tactical story

The match changed when CPVC’s serve became more aggressive. After Deya’s strong start, the visitors began targeting the home team’s reception more effectively, reducing the quality of Deya’s first-tempo attack. That allowed CPVC’s block to set up better and gave the back-row defence more time to react.

Deya’s attacking variety was impressive in the first three sets, but the hosts became more predictable as the match wore on. CPVC’s ability to keep rallies alive and convert transition opportunities proved crucial. In the tie-break, the visitors’ decision-making under pressure was the difference: they chose the right moments to attack and avoided the unforced errors that had hurt them earlier.

Standout performers

CPVC’s opposite hitter delivered several important points in the fourth and fifth sets, while the middle blockers made a growing impact at the net. The visiting libero was excellent in the closing stages, keeping difficult balls in play. For Deya, the outside hitters carried much of the scoring load, but the team will rue a few missed opportunities at 13-13 in the tie-break.

Season impact

The five-set win is the kind of result that can shape a season. CPVC Volley Women showed character and tactical flexibility, and the extra point from the tie-break victory could prove valuable in the Superliga Women table. Deya Volley Women take a point from the match but will be frustrated after holding a 2-1 lead at home.
