CSKA Sofia Women produced a dominant home display in the Bulgarian Superliga Women on Saturday, sweeping Minyor Pernik W 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-20). The victory was built on serving pressure, a strong block and a clear edge in attacking efficiency, giving CSKA three straightforward points in front of their home supporters.

Match overview

CSKA started quickly and never allowed Minyor Pernik to settle. The first set was decided by a mid-set run from the service line, and the second was even more one-sided as CSKA’s block controlled the net. Minyor Pernik improved in the third set and found some rhythm in attack, but CSKA still had enough quality to close out the match without needing a fourth set.

The scoreline accurately reflected the balance of play. CSKA were sharper in every phase, while Minyor Pernik showed flashes of potential but struggled to sustain rallies against a more experienced opponent.

Key moments

• First-set serving run: CSKA broke open a close opening set with a sequence of aggressive serves that disrupted Minyor Pernik’s reception.
• Second-set block dominance: The home side’s middle blockers took control at the net, turning defence into quick transition points.
• Third-set finish: Minyor Pernik made the final set more competitive, but CSKA’s outside hitter delivered a series of important kills to close the match.

Tactical story

CSKA’s game plan revolved around taking Minyor Pernik out of system early. The home side served with purpose, targeting the visiting receivers and forcing predictable attacks that CSKA’s block could read. When Minyor Pernik did manage a clean reception, CSKA’s defence held up well enough to extend rallies and wait for mistakes.

CSKA’s setter also varied the offence effectively, keeping the middle involved and creating one-on-one opportunities for the wings. Minyor Pernik’s best moments came when their own serve found the target and they could set up their block, but those spells were too brief to change the match.

Standout performers

CSKA’s outside hitter led the way with a consistent scoring performance, while the team’s middle blocker was a constant presence at the net. The CSKA libero also had a strong match, controlling the back court and giving the team stability in transition. For Minyor Pernik, the setter worked hard to keep the offence moving and the young outside hitter showed promise with several confident swings.

Season impact

The straight-sets win strengthens CSKA Sofia Women’s position in the Superliga Women standings and adds a valuable set-ratio boost. For Minyor Pernik W, the match is another learning experience against one of the league’s stronger sides, and the third-set improvement offers something to build on. CSKA will be pleased with the efficiency of the performance and the opportunity to rotate their squad while maintaining control.

The Bulgarian Superliga Women continues to provide a clear test of depth and consistency, and CSKA’s performance on Saturday was a reminder of why they are considered a difficult team to beat at home.
