Key moments

The first set was decided by a mid-set surge from Buducnost, who turned a 10-9 lead into a 17-11 advantage with a run of powerful serves and two blocks. Herceg Novi responded well in the second, saving a set point at 21-22 and then taking the next three points to level the match. The third set was the turning point of the contest: Buducnost jumped to an 8-4 lead and held off a brief comeback before pulling away late. In the fourth, the hosts dominated from the first serve and never allowed Herceg Novi to build any rhythm.

Tactical story

Buducnost Women’s serve was the most influential weapon in the match. They consistently forced Herceg Novi into predictable first-contact situations, which allowed the home block to set up early. Buducnost’s setter also did well to involve the middle attack, keeping the visitors’ blockers honest and creating space for the wings. Herceg Novi’s best spell came in the second set, when their passing improved and their opposite found success against the block. However, they struggled to sustain that level, and Buducnost’s defensive adjustments in the third and fourth sets made the difference.

Standout performers

Buducnost’s opposite delivered a strong scoring performance, particularly in the first and fourth sets, while the middle blocker was a constant presence at the net. The libero also provided stability in serve-receive and helped the team maintain control during long rallies. For Herceg Novi Women, the outside hitter was their most consistent attacking option, and the setter worked hard to vary the team’s attack. Even in defeat, there were positive signs for the visitors, especially in their second-set comeback.

Season impact

The win gives Buducnost Women three important points and strengthens their position in the Superliga Women standings. It also demonstrates their ability to recover after losing a set, a trait that will be crucial in a demanding season. Herceg Novi Women will be disappointed with the margin of defeat in the fourth set but can take confidence from their competitive second-set performance. Both sides will now prepare for their next fixtures, with Buducnost looking to build momentum and Herceg Novi aiming for greater consistency across the full match.
