• Final score: Beograd W 0-3 Crvena zvezda Women
• Set scores: 19-25, 21-25, 17-25
• Competition: Superliga Women

How the Derby Was Won

Crvena zvezda set the tone in the first set by taking an early lead and never allowing Beograd W to settle into its preferred attacking rhythm. The visitors’ block did a good job of closing the angles for Beograd’s outside hitters, while their own offense found space through a balanced spread of attacks.

The second set was tighter for longer, with Beograd W improving its reception and creating chances in transition. Crvena zvezda, however, raised its level near the end of the set, winning the key rallies and taking it 25-21. The third set followed a similar pattern but with a wider margin: Crvena zvezda built a comfortable lead, kept errors low and completed the sweep 25-17.

Tactical Story

The match was shaped by Crvena zvezda’s serve-receive superiority. The visitors’ serving strategy pulled Beograd W out of system and limited the home setter’s options in the middle. When Beograd W was forced into predictable high-ball attacks, Crvena zvezda’s block and backcourt defense were well positioned to respond.

Crvena zvezda also managed the match well after taking the first set. Rather than easing off, the visitors maintained their pressure and kept Beograd W from gaining confidence. The home side’s best moments came in the second set, but Crvena zvezda’s late-set execution proved decisive.

Standout Performers

Crvena zvezda’s outside hitters led the scoring effort and were effective in both front-row attacks and back-row transitions. The team’s middle blockers contributed important blocks, particularly in the first and third sets, while the libero helped stabilize the defense during Beograd’s stronger stretches.

For Beograd W, there were positive signs in the second set, when the team’s reception improved and the attack became more varied. The home side will need more consistency in serve-receive if it is to challenge the top teams in the Superliga Women this season.

Season Impact

The straight-set victory gives Crvena zvezda Women valuable momentum and reinforces their credentials in the Superliga Women race. A derby win carries extra significance, and doing it without dropping a set will boost confidence in the squad. Beograd W, meanwhile, will view the match as a learning experience and will focus on reducing the unforced errors that allowed Crvena zvezda to pull away.
