Albatros Women recovered from a second-set setback to defeat Jedinstvo Women 3-1 in the Superliga Women on 25 October 2026. The home side produced a mature response after losing a tight second set, reasserting control through stronger serving, better block positioning and a more varied attack. The win gives Albatros Women an important three points and a confidence boost in the early part of the campaign.

Match overview

Albatros started brightly and took the opening set with a composed finish, but Jedinstvo Women responded well in the second. The visitors raised their serving pressure and forced Albatros into several difficult transitions, edging the set by the narrowest of margins. Rather than allowing that setback to unsettle them, Albatros reorganized in the third set and produced their most complete volleyball of the match. They carried that momentum into the fourth and closed out the victory without allowing Jedinstvo to force a deciding set.

Key moments

The first set was tightly contested until Albatros broke away at 20-19 with a block and a well-placed serve. Jedinstvo’s response in the second set was impressive, as they saved a set point and took it 25-23 after a long rally that ended with a sharp cross-court attack. The momentum shift was brief, however. Albatros opened the third set with a 6-2 run and never surrendered the lead. In the fourth, Jedinstvo stayed close until 14-14, but Albatros pulled clear with a decisive 7-2 burst that effectively ended the contest.

Tactical story

Albatros Women’s serving strategy was central to the result. They targeted Jedinstvo’s left-side receiver and disrupted the visitors’ first tempo, making it harder for their setter to use the middle. Albatros also improved their block after the second set, closing the angle on Jedinstvo’s opposite and forcing more predictable attacks. On offense, Albatros used a balanced distribution, mixing quick middle attacks with back-row options. Jedinstvo fought hard in defense and produced several impressive digs, but they could not maintain their serving accuracy across four sets.

Standout performers

Albatros Women’s setter controlled the tempo well and made intelligent choices in transition, while the middle blocker delivered crucial points at the net. The team’s opposite was a reliable outlet in the big moments, especially in the third and fourth sets. For Jedinstvo Women, the libero was excellent in serve-receive, and their outside hitter caused problems with a varied shot selection. In the end, Albatros had more answers in the decisive phases.

Season impact

The result adds three valuable points to Albatros Women’s Superliga Women tally and reinforces their home-court strength. It also shows the squad’s ability to respond after losing a close set, an important quality in a competitive league. Jedinstvo Women will take encouragement from their second-set performance but will need greater consistency in serve-receive and attacking efficiency. Both teams now turn their attention to the next round, with Albatros looking to build a winning run and Jedinstvo aiming to convert promising spells into points.
