Key Moments

The fourth set was the turning point. Trailing 2-1, Odintsovo produced its most complete set of the match, winning 25-20 and silencing Yenisey’s home crowd. The visitors’ block began to time Yenisey’s outside attacks better, and their transition game became more efficient.

In the fifth set, Odintsovo took an early 4-2 lead and never looked back. Yenisey twice reduced the gap to one point, but Odintsovo answered each time with a side-out. At 12-12, the visitors won three straight points, finishing the match with a block and a well-placed serve that Yenisey could not return.

Tactical Story

Odintsovo’s serve reception improved significantly after the second set, allowing the team to run a more varied offense. The visitors’ setter used the middle more often in the fourth and fifth sets, creating space for the outside hitters and keeping Yenisey’s block off balance.

Yenisey’s attack was effective in patches, particularly when its opposite hitter found rhythm from the right side. But the home team struggled to sustain pressure late in sets. Too many free balls and unforced errors gave Odintsovo the openings it needed to complete the comeback.

Standout Players

Daria Petrova led Odintsovo with 23 points, including several decisive kills in the fourth and fifth sets. Yenisey’s Olga Ivanova finished with 20 points and was the home side’s most consistent attacker. Odintsovo’s libero also made a strong contribution with important digs in the closing stages.

Standings Impact

The 3-2 win gives Odintsovo Women two points in the Superleague Women standings, while Yenisey Women take one point from the match. The result keeps Odintsovo in the thick of the playoff race and gives them a useful head-to-head advantage. Yenisey will need to recover quickly, especially with tighter matches likely to decide the final standings.
