Busto Arsizio Power Past Chieri in Super Cup Clash

UYBA Busto Arsizio Women opened their Super Cup Women campaign in style on September 2, 2020, with a convincing 3-1 home victory over Chieri '76 Women. The result underlined Busto Arsizio’s attacking quality and served notice that they intend to be a major force in the early-season silverware race.

Match Overview

From the opening exchange, Busto Arsizio imposed themselves with aggressive service pressure and quick offensive combinations. Chieri ’76 worked hard to stay in touch and did manage to claim a set, but the home side always appeared to have an extra gear. Whether through sharp first-touch passing or decisive finishing at the net, Busto Arsizio controlled the tempo for most of the contest.

How the Match Was Won

The defining factor was Busto Arsizio’s balance across the court. Their outside hitters found consistent gaps in Chieri’s block, while the middle attackers kept the visitors honest with fast attacks. Chieri ’76 had moments of quality, especially when they successfully slowed down the home side’s transition game, but they could not sustain that level long enough.

Key Performances

• Attacking depth: Busto Arsizio shared the scoring load across multiple hitters, making it difficult for Chieri to focus their block.
• Service pressure: A strong serving display disrupted Chieri’s reception time and again in key phases.
• Resilient visitors: Chieri ’76 showed character to win their set and remained competitive throughout.

Looking Ahead

This 3-1 victory gives UYBA Busto Arsizio Women early momentum in the Super Cup Women, while Chieri ’76 will take lessons from the match as they look to sharpen their finishing. If Busto Arsizio can maintain this level of consistency, they will be a tough side to stop in the competition.
