Göztepe Women produced a composed road performance to beat Beşiktaş Women 3-1 in Sultanlar Ligi Women action on October 25, 2026, turning a tight early contest into a clear statement victory. The match, played at 18:00, saw the visitors recover from losing the second set to dominate the closing stages and leave with all three points.

Match overview

Beşiktaş Women started with energy in front of their home support, but Göztepe stayed patient in serve-receive and found the better attacking rhythm as the match wore on. The result moved the visitors toward the stronger side of the Sultanlar Ligi Women standings, while Beşiktaş were left to reflect on a promising start that did not translate into a sustained challenge.

The set sequence told the story of a contest that was competitive early before Göztepe took control:

• Set 1: Beşiktaş Women 23-25 Göztepe Women
• Set 2: Beşiktaş Women 25-21 Göztepe Women
• Set 3: Beşiktaş Women 19-25 Göztepe Women
• Set 4: Beşiktaş Women 18-25 Göztepe Women

Key moments

The first set set the tone. Beşiktaş stayed within touching distance through the middle phase, but Göztepe won the crucial points at the end of the set, breaking a 22-22 tie with a well-timed serve-pressure sequence and a sharp transition kill. That late surge gave the visitors the confidence to play more freely.

Beşiktaş responded well in the second set. Their block began to connect with Göztepe’s outside attacks, and the home side’s serve improved enough to disrupt the visitor’s first-tempo options. A 25-21 win leveled the match and briefly put the momentum back with Beşiktaş.

The third set was the turning point. Göztepe raised their serving intensity, targeting the seams in Beşiktaş’s reception line and forcing a series of predictable attacks. With their block-defense system working, the visitors pulled away midway through the set and closed it 25-19. The fourth set followed a similar pattern: Göztepe led early, kept errors low, and never allowed Beşiktaş to build a sustained run.

Tactical story

Göztepe’s victory was built on serve pressure and defensive discipline. They served aggressively enough to keep Beşiktaş out of system, then relied on their block to slow down the home side’s preferred attacking routes. In transition, Göztepe looked the more balanced team, with their opposite hitter and outside attackers finding angles when the first option was taken away.

Beşiktaş’s best moments came when their middle attack was involved early and their libero controlled the back-court. But those moments were too intermittent. Too many side-out rallies ended with a forced swing or an unforced error, and Göztepe punished those gaps with efficient counterattacks.

Standout performers

Göztepe’s opposite hitter was a consistent outlet in the big points, while their libero kept several difficult rallies alive with calm reception and defense. The visitors’ middle blockers also made an impact at the net, especially in the third and fourth sets when Beşiktaş needed a quick response.

For Beşiktaş, the brightest spells came through their outside attack and blocking presence in the second set. The home side showed they can compete at the level required in Sultanlar Ligi Women, but they will need greater consistency in reception and terminal attacking to turn tight sets into wins.

Standings impact

The 3-1 scoreline gave Göztepe Women a full three points and a valuable away win in the Sultanlar Ligi Women table. Beşiktaş Women came away empty-handed, making their next fixtures important as they look to climb back toward the middle of the standings. For Göztepe, the result reinforced their credentials as a side capable of taking points on the road against direct league rivals.

The match also underlined a simple volleyball truth: in a league as competitive as Sultanlar Ligi Women, the team that controls the serve-and-pass battle usually controls the scoreboard. Göztepe did that better for longer, and the 3-1 result reflected that advantage.
