Imoco Volley Conegliano Women produced a clinical away performance in Serie A1 Women, sweeping Talmassons Women 3-0 on Sunday night. The visitors controlled the match from the opening serve, limiting the hosts' attacking options and closing out the contest in straight sets.

Match Overview

Played on 18 October 2026, the fixture always looked like a significant test for Talmassons, and so it proved. Conegliano's serve-and-block combination created pressure from the first rotation, and the home side never found a sustained answer. The set scores read 18-25, 16-25, 20-25 in favour of the visitors.

How the Match Unfolded

The first set established the pattern. Conegliano served with purpose, keeping Talmassons out of system and forcing their setter to work with predictable options on the wings. The visitors' block read the play excellently, and a comfortable 18-25 margin reflected their control.

The second set was even more one-sided. Conegliano's transition game clicked into gear, with their middle blockers creating space for the pin hitters and the back-row defence turning defence into quick counter-attacks. Talmassons struggled to string points together, and a 16-25 scoreline left the home side with a mountain to climb.

To their credit, Talmassons produced their best volleyball in the third set. The home crowd got behind them, the passing stabilised and the attackers found more success against the Conegliano block. At 20-25, however, the gap in quality at the decisive moments was still clear, and the visitors closed it out without drama.

Tactical Story

Conegliano's dominance began at the service line. Their float and jump serves consistently targeted the seams of the Talmassons reception, disrupting first-tempo attacks and allowing the block to set up in good positions. When the hosts did manage a clean pass, Conegliano's floor defence was well-organised enough to keep rallies alive until the counter-attack arrived.

Talmassons' best moments came when they got their middle attack involved early, forcing the Conegliano block to respect the centre of the net. But those spells were too brief, and the visitors' ability to reset after every point kept the pressure constant.

Standout Performers

• Conegliano's opposite hitter was the match's most consistent attacking weapon, delivering in every set.
• The visitors' middle blockers controlled the net, contributing both in attack and with key blocks at important moments.
• Talmassons' libero was one of the bright spots for the hosts, digging a high volume of balls in the third set.

What It Means for the Season

For Conegliano, the straight-sets win is another demonstration of the depth and consistency that make them one of the benchmark teams in Serie A1 Women. Three points on the road, a clean sheet in sets and the ability to rotate without losing rhythm are exactly the ingredients that matter over a long season.

For Talmassons, the result underlines the challenge of competing against the elite sides in the division. There were positives in the third set, but the team will need to find more consistent scoring options if they are to take points from matches of this magnitude. The focus now shifts to the next fixture, where a stronger start will be essential.
