Pinerolo Women claimed a 3-0 home victory over Offanengo Women in Serie A2 Women on 18 October 2026, winning 25-20, 25-17, 25-22. The hosts produced a composed performance, using strong serving and a well-organised block to control the match and take all three points in front of their home crowd.

Match overview

Pinerolo began the match with good intensity, serving aggressively and forcing Offanengo into difficult first-ball situations. The first set was competitive until the midpoint, when Pinerolo’s block and transition play created a small gap. The hosts took the opening set 25-20 and then raised their level in the second, dominating the middle phase and closing it out 25-17.

Offanengo responded with more fight in the third set and kept the score close into the final points. Pinerolo, however, stayed calm in the key rallies and found the attacking solutions needed to finish the match. The 25-22 third-set win completed a straight-sets result that reflected the hosts’ greater consistency over the course of the evening.

Key moments

• First set: Pinerolo’s serve created a decisive break midway through the set, and the block followed up with important stops.
• Second set: The hosts controlled the tempo from start to finish and gave Offanengo few chances to build momentum.
• Third set: Offanengo stayed close, but Pinerolo won the crucial points at the end to avoid a fourth set.

Tactical story

Pinerolo’s serving strategy was effective throughout the match. By mixing targets and pace, they prevented Offanengo from running a comfortable offence through the middle. The home block was well organised and often forced Offanengo’s attackers into difficult angles. Pinerolo also defended well behind the block, turning several long rallies into transition points. Offanengo had their best spell in the third set when they increased their serving pressure and attacked more decisively, but they could not sustain that level long enough to extend the match.

Standout performers

Pinerolo’s opposite hitter was a reliable scoring option in all three sets, while the middle blockers gave the team a strong presence at the net. The libero also played an important role in keeping the defence organised and maintaining possession in transition. For Offanengo, the outside hitters worked hard and produced some good points in the third set, but the team’s first-contact consistency wavered under pressure. Their setter tried to vary the attack, yet Pinerolo’s block too often anticipated the direction of play.

Season impact

The 3-0 win is a valuable result for Pinerolo Women in the Serie A2 Women standings and a confidence boost as they build momentum in the campaign. Offanengo Women will take some encouragement from their third-set fight, but the match highlighted the importance of serve-receive stability against well-drilled opponents. Pinerolo’s ability to close out sets efficiently could prove important later in the season, especially in a league where home form and straight-sets victories can make a significant difference to the table.
