Offanengo Women produced the comeback of the round in Serie A2 Women, recovering from a 2-1 deficit to win 3-2 away at Fasano Women on 11 October 2026. The visitors took the deciding tie-break 15-11 to snatch two points on the road and leave the home side with the narrowest of consolations.

Match Overview

Played in front of a lively home crowd, the contest swung repeatedly between two teams with contrasting styles. Fasano, powered by their physical block and a busy opposite hitter, dictated the opening exchanges, while Offanengo relied on disciplined serving and aggressive transition play to stay in touch. The result was a five-set thriller that few inside the arena will forget, decided by small margins in the final twenty rallies.

Set-by-Set

• Set 1 – Fasano 25-23: The hosts edged a tight opener, closing it out with a block on the right side after trading points to 21-21.
• Set 2 – Offanengo 25-21: A serving run in the middle of the set put the visitors in control, and Fasano never recovered the deficit.
• Set 3 – Fasano 25-22: Fasano rediscovered their rhythm at the net and took the lead again, with their middle blockers winning the battle at the net.
• Set 4 – Offanengo 25-19: Offanengo raised their reception and ran away with the fourth set, forcing the tie-break.
• Set 5 – Offanengo 15-11: More composed and more clinical in the decisive moments, the visitors closed the match out on their second match point.

How Offanengo Turned It Around

Trailing 2-1 and with the noise of a partisan arena against them, Offanengo made the adjustment that mattered: they pushed more risk onto the serve and forced Fasano into predictable, high-ball attacking. That shift allowed the visiting block to set up earlier and the backcourt to read the angles, turning what had been a defensive struggle into a counter-attacking performance. The fourth set was the statement, and the tie-break was its confirmation.

Standout Performers

Fasano's opposite hitter carried a heavy attacking load and was the most consistent threat of the night, while their captain kept the side organised through the dips in the third and fourth sets. For Offanengo, the setter's decision-making under pressure stood out — particularly her willingness to involve the middles in the tie-break — and the libero produced a string of crucial digs in the closing rallies. The visiting outside hitters also finished the match far better than they started it.

What It Means

Winning a five-setter on the road is worth more than a single result in Serie A2 Women. Offanengo take the maximum from a fixture many would have circled as a potential drop, while Fasano are left to reflect on a match they led twice. In a division where the table stays compressed for months and head-to-head results can decide the final standings, that 15-11 tie-break could prove more significant than it looked on the night.

Key Talking Points

• Offanengo won the match despite trailing 2-1 — their in-game resilience was the storyline of the evening.
• Fasano's home form remains a concern, with two sets slipping away after leading in the match.
• Both teams' serving statistics told the story: the side that served more aggressively won the decisive rallies.
• The fixture underlines how tight the middle of Serie A2 Women is early in the campaign.
