Lagonegro produced the most complete performance of the round in Serie A2, sweeping Brescia 3-0 on the road. The visitors were sharper in every phase — serving, blocking and transition — and never allowed the home side to build the kind of momentum that might have changed the complexion of the match.

Match Overview

On paper, a trip to Brescia looked like a stern test. In practice, Lagonegro controlled the contest from the first service and were rarely troubled. Their serve placed Brescia under constant pressure, their block organised well against the home attack, and their opposite hitter delivered the kind of high-volume scoring performance that turns tight sets into comfortable ones.

• Result: Brescia 0-3 Lagonegro
• Competition: Serie A2
• Set scores: 20-25, 19-25, 22-25
• Key statistic: Lagonegro's block and transition efficiency kept Brescia below 23 points in every set

How Lagonegro Took Control

The first set established the pattern. Lagonegro served with intent, targeting the seams in Brescia's reception and forcing the hosts into uncomfortable second-ball decisions. A mid-set run of four consecutive points created the separation Lagonegro needed, and they closed the set 25-20.

Brescia tried to respond with a more aggressive approach in the second, but the errors mounted as they chased the game. Lagonegro's block-read was excellent, repeatedly forming a double block against Brescia's preferred attacking angles. The visitors extended their lead steadily and took the set 25-19.

The third set was Brescia's best. Urged on by their home support, they traded points deep into the twenties and briefly looked capable of extending the match. But Lagonegro's composure in the closing rallies — a clutch block followed by a clean transition kill — sealed it 25-22 and completed the sweep.

Tactical Story

The match was decided in the serve-and-pass battle. Lagonegro consistently kept Brescia out of system, which in turn allowed their block to set up comfortably and their defenders to anticipate. In attack, Lagonegro's variety kept the home block guessing, mixing power with well-disguised tips and off-speed shots into the deep corners.

Standout Performers and Season Impact

Lagonegro's opposite hitter carried the scoring burden with a mature, error-controlled display, while the libero's defensive coverage underpinned the visitors' control of long rallies. For Brescia, the third set offered a template for the weeks ahead: more aggressive serving, quicker middle involvement and better error management in tight phases.

A straight-sets away win is worth more than three points in Serie A2 — it sends a message to the rest of the division. Lagonegro move forward with momentum and confidence, while Brescia will look to reset quickly before their next fixture.
