Tactical story

Zeleznicar Women’s serve was a constant problem for Partizan. The visitors mixed power serves with well-placed short balls, disrupting the home team’s reception and limiting their first-tempo options. That allowed Zeleznicar’s block to set up early and force Partizan into difficult out-of-system swings.

OK Partizan Women deserve credit for their response in the second and third sets. The home side found more rhythm through their left-side attackers and began to win longer rallies. However, Zeleznicar’s experience showed in the closing points, with the visitors remaining calm and executing their side-out plays under pressure.

Standout players

Zeleznicar Women opposite Jovana Markovic delivered several crucial points, especially in the tight third set. Middle blocker Dragana Milic controlled the net with important blocks, while the libero anchored a solid defensive performance. For OK Partizan Women, Milica Savic was the team’s most consistent scorer, but the home side could not match Zeleznicar’s efficiency in the decisive moments.

Cup impact

The victory moves Zeleznicar Women forward in the Serbia Cup Women and reinforces their credentials as a team capable of competing deep in the competition. For OK Partizan Women, the defeat is a learning moment, particularly in managing serve-reception pressure against stronger opponents. Zeleznicar’s straight-sets win also preserves energy for the next round.
