Match overview

Farm Fresh Foxies Women started brightly, taking the opening set 25-21 behind strong serving and an efficient outside attack. Nxled Chameleons Women responded in the second set, tightening their block and finding rhythm in transition to win 25-22.

The third set was the tightest of the afternoon. Farm Fresh edged it 25-23 after a late run, but Nxled refused to let the match slip. The Chameleons dominated the fourth set 25-20, forcing a deciding fifth set.

In the fifth, the two teams traded points until 13-13. Nxled’s captain delivered a crucial kill to make it 14-13, and a well-placed service ace sealed the 15-13 win. The comeback victory underlined Nxled’s composure in high-pressure moments.

Key moments

The turning point came late in the fourth set. With Nxled leading 20-18, a series of strong serves forced Farm Fresh into two poor receptions, and Nxled converted both into transition points. That burst gave the Chameleons the cushion they needed to close the set and carry momentum into the decider.

Farm Fresh had chances in the fifth set, notably at 12-12 and 13-13, but Nxled’s block and floor defense held firm. A dramatic rally at 13-13 ended with a Nxled kill from the right side, and the ensuing ace completed the comeback.

Tactical story

Nxled’s serving strategy was central to the win. The Chameleons targeted Farm Fresh’s left-side passers and disrupted the home side’s first-tempo attack. That allowed Nxled’s middle blockers to commit earlier and slow down Farm Fresh’s outside hitters.

Farm Fresh, meanwhile, relied heavily on its opposite hitter and struggled when forced into longer rallies. Nxled’s libero, Bea Lorenzo, was excellent in defense, repeatedly extending points and giving her team chances to counter. Nxled’s bench also made an impact, with fresh legs helping maintain intensity in the fourth and fifth sets.

Standout players

• Camille Dizon (Nxled Chameleons Women): 27 points, including 24 kills, two blocks and one ace. She was the go-to scorer in the closing sets.
• Rina Navarro (Nxled Chameleons Women): Six blocks and several key defensive touches at the net.
• Bea Lorenzo (Nxled Chameleons Women): 22 digs and steady serve reception under pressure.
• Alyssa Santos (Farm Fresh Foxies Women): 24 points and a persistent threat from the outside.
• Jessa Mercado (Farm Fresh Foxies Women): 52 assists, keeping the offense organized through five sets.

Season impact

The win gives Nxled Chameleons Women two points in the Premier Volleyball League standings, while Farm Fresh Foxies Women collect one point from the five-set loss. The result boosts Nxled’s momentum and strengthens their positioning in the PVL race.

For Farm Fresh, the defeat is a frustrating one after twice taking the lead, but the performance showed plenty of fight. The Foxies will need to improve their late-set execution and serve reception as the season progresses, while Nxled will look to build on a road win that could prove valuable in the final standings.
