Creamline Cool Smashers Women continued their strong form in the Premier Volleyball League on October 24, 2026, defeating Zus Coffee Thunderbelles Women 3-1. The match was competitive in patches, but Creamline’s depth, net defense, and ability to raise their level in the crucial moments proved decisive.

The win strengthens Creamline’s position in the PVL standings and reinforces their reputation as one of the league’s most reliable teams in longer matches. Zus Coffee showed resilience by taking the second set, but they could not sustain that momentum against a Creamline side that adjusted well after the early exchange.

Match overview

Creamline took the match with set scores of 25-20, 22-25, 25-18, and 25-21. The opening set followed a familiar pattern: Creamline controlled the tempo with aggressive serving and a well-organized block, while Zus Coffee searched for consistency in reception. Creamline closed the first set comfortably and looked in control.

The second set was a different story. Zus Coffee improved their first contact, played with more freedom, and took advantage of a brief dip in Creamline’s efficiency. The Thunderbelles edged the set 25-22 to level the match, but Creamline responded immediately after the break.

Key moments

The third set was the turning point. Creamline came out with renewed focus, tightened their serving and blocking, and quickly built a lead. Zus Coffee tried to stay within touching distance, but Creamline’s transition game was sharper and their attackers found more space at the net. The 25-18 margin reflected that control.

In the fourth set, Zus Coffee again showed fight and kept the score close early. However, Creamline’s experience told in the closing points. A few crucial defensive plays and some well-chosen attacks helped the Cool Smashers pull away, and they finished the match without allowing another comeback.

Tactical story

Creamline’s biggest advantage was their balance. Their setter distributed the ball well across the front row, making it difficult for Zus Coffee’s block to commit to one attacker. When the Thunderbelles adjusted, Creamline used their middle hitters and back-row attacks to keep the pressure on. That variety was especially important in the third and fourth sets.

Zus Coffee’s best spell came in the second set, when their serving improved and they managed to slow Creamline’s tempo. But maintaining that level over four sets proved difficult. Creamline’s block-defense system became more effective as the match progressed, and Zus Coffee’s attackers were often forced into low-percentage swings in the latter stages.

Standout performers

Creamline’s veteran outside hitter delivered important points in key moments, while their middle blockers controlled the net and gave the team a strong presence in both attack and defense. The libero also played a key role, keeping rallies alive and allowing Creamline to transition effectively.

For Zus Coffee, the second-set win was built on improved serving and a more assertive attacking approach. Their opposite hitter had encouraging moments, and the team’s defensive effort never disappeared. Still, the Thunderbelles will need more consistency in reception and side-out play to challenge the league’s top sides over four or five sets.

Season impact

The 3-1 victory gives Creamline Cool Smashers Women another important result in the Premier Volleyball League and keeps them firmly in the title conversation. Zus Coffee Thunderbelles Women leave with a competitive performance but no points, and they will focus on turning promising stretches into complete sets in their next outing.
