Match overview

Zhetyssu Zhastar brought energy and aggression to the home court, and their serving pressure created problems for Okzhetpes throughout the evening. The visitors managed to level the match after a tight second set, but Zhetyssu Zhastar responded with a composed third set and then pulled away in the fourth. The result is a confidence-building home win in the National League.

Key moments

• First set: The home side started strongly, using an early serving run to build a lead. Zhetyssu Zhastar closed the opener 25-19.
• Second set: Okzhetpes improved their reception and stayed close throughout. The visitors edged a tight finish 25-23 to level the match.
• Third set: Zhetyssu Zhastar regained momentum with a strong blocking sequence in the middle of the set. They took it 25-21.
• Fourth set: The home team dominated the latter half of the set, converting defence into quick transition points and sealing the match 25-18.

Tactical story

Zhetyssu Zhastar’s serve-receive was more stable than Okzhetpes’ for most of the match, allowing their setter to use the middle and create better spacing for the outside hitters. Their block also improved as the match wore on, especially in the third and fourth sets when Okzhetpes were forced into more predictable attacks.

Okzhetpes’ best period came in the second set, when they matched the home side’s intensity and found ways to score through the pins. However, their error count rose after that, and they struggled to contain Zhetyssu Zhastar’s transition attack. The home side’s ability to reset after losing the second set was a key part of the win.

Standout performers

Zhetyssu Zhastar’s opposite hitter led the attack with a strong all-round display, while their middle blocker made several crucial blocks in the third set. The libero also contributed with steady reception and a few important defensive saves. For Okzhetpes, the outside hitter remained a threat, but the team needed more support from the service line.

Season impact

The victory gives Zhetyssu Zhastar important home points and reinforces their competitive form in the National League. Okzhetpes will be disappointed to have let the match slip after levelling in the second set, but they showed enough to suggest they can bounce back. Both sides now look ahead to their next fixtures, with Zhetyssu Zhastar aiming to build on this performance and Okzhetpes seeking greater consistency in reception.
