Okzhetpes delivered a controlled 3-0 victory over Zhetyssu Zhastar in the National League, winning 25-19, 25-21, 25-18. The away side were sharper in every phase, using serve pressure and a well-organized block to keep the young Zhetyssu side from finding any sustained rhythm.

Match overview

Okzhetpes set the tone early in the first set, building a 12-7 lead and never allowing Zhetyssu Zhastar back within four points. The second set was more competitive, with Zhetyssu level at 18-18, but Okzhetpes finished with a 7-3 run to take it 25-21. The third set followed a similar pattern: Zhetyssu stayed close until the midpoint before Okzhetpes pulled away to close out the match 25-18.

Key moments

• First-set break: Okzhetpes turned a 9-7 lead into 16-10 with a run of seven points, mixing two aces with a block on the right side.
• Second-set finish: At 18-18, Okzhetpes scored four of the next five points, capped by a sharp back-row attack, to seize full control.
• Third-set closure: Leading 15-13, the visitors scored six of the next eight points to remove any doubt about the result.

Tactical story

Okzhetpes won the serve-and-pass battle. Their deep serves kept Zhetyssu’s setter off the net, reducing the home team’s options in the middle and allowing Okzhetpes to set their block around the pins. Zhetyssu had moments of quality in transition, especially in the second set, but they could not string together enough sideouts to pressure the visitors. Okzhetpes also managed their errors well, giving away few free points in the final two sets.

Standout performers

Okzhetpes’ opposite hitter led the scoring with a steady performance across all three sets, while the libero was excellent in serve receive and floor defense. The middle blockers controlled the net, particularly in the first and third sets. For Zhetyssu Zhastar, the setter tried to vary the attack and the outside hitters showed flashes, but the team struggled to handle Okzhetpes’ serving pressure consistently.

Season impact

A straight-sets road win is a strong statement in the National League, and Okzhetpes will take confidence from the way they closed out each set. Zhetyssu Zhastar, meanwhile, will look at the 18-18 moments in the second and third sets as proof that they can compete, but they need more consistency in first contact. The result shapes the early-season standings and gives both teams clear priorities for the next round.
