LP Viesti’s strength for much of the match was its middle attack and ability to score through the pins. But as Puijo’s serve pressure increased, LP Viesti’s reception became less stable, reducing the team’s options. Puijo also defended well in the back court, extending rallies and forcing LP Viesti to take extra risks.

Standout performers

Puijo’s opposite hitter Veera Kinnunen delivered key points in the closing stages, while middle blocker Aino Lehtonen made an impact at the net with important blocks. Libero Ella Rantanen was excellent in defense, keeping Puijo alive in several long rallies.

For LP Viesti, Sanni Mikkonen produced a strong attacking performance and was particularly effective in the first and third sets. Setter Ella Pietilä kept the home side organized for long periods, but LP Viesti will rue a handful of missed opportunities in the fourth set that allowed Puijo back into the match.
