• Regatas response: The home side levelled the match with a composed second-set performance.
• Third-set serving run: Alianza Lima’s pressure from the service line helped them take a 2-1 lead.
• Fourth-set resilience: Regatas Lima forced a fifth set by winning the fourth 25-21.

Tactical Story

Alianza Lima’s serving strategy proved decisive over the course of the match. The visitors targeted deep corners and mixed pace effectively, making it difficult for Regatas Lima to run a fluid attack. When Regatas Lima managed a good first contact, their middle attackers caused problems, but those moments were not consistent enough to swing the match fully in their favour.

Regatas Lima’s block improved in the second and fourth sets, giving them the platform to extend rallies and frustrate Alianza Lima’s pin hitters. However, in the fifth set, Alianza Lima’s decision-making was slightly sharper. They avoided unforced errors in the final rallies and forced Regatas Lima into predictable attacking choices.

Standout Performers

Alianza Lima’s outside hitter delivered several clutch points, particularly in the first and fifth sets. Their setter also managed the offence well under pressure, spreading the attack and keeping Regatas Lima’s block guessing. For Regatas Lima, the middle blocker was a strong presence at the net, while the libero kept the team alive with important defensive plays in the fourth-set comeback.

What the Result Means

The 3-2 win gives Alianza Lima Women an important boost in the LNSV Women standings and bragging rights in a closely watched rivalry. It also demonstrates the team’s ability to close out tight matches, which could matter later in the season. Regatas Lima Women will be disappointed to lose a five-setter at home, but their fightback to force a decider shows they remain a dangerous side. The head-to-head result adds extra intrigue to any future meeting between the two clubs.
