Tactical story

Niksar’s serving and blocking combination was the story of the match. After a second-set dip, the visitors increased their service pressure and forced Ziraat Bankasi 2 into more predictable attacks. That allowed Niksar’s block to set up early, and the defense behind it was able to clean up the remaining balls.

Ziraat Bankasi 2 had success when their reception held and their setter could involve the middle attackers. The home side’s second-set win showed what they were capable of, but they could not sustain that level. Niksar’s ability to adapt their serve placement and stay disciplined in transition proved to be the difference.

Standout performers

Niksar’s opposite hitter delivered a strong scoring performance, especially in the third and fourth sets, while the middle blockers made a significant impact at the net. The libero was also important, providing stability in reception and making several crucial defensive plays in the final set.

For Ziraat Bankasi 2, the middle attackers were effective when given clean ball, and the setter showed good creativity in the second set. However, the home side’s outside hitters struggled against Niksar’s block as the match wore on, and that proved costly in the decisive moments.

1. Ligi table impact

The 3-1 win boosts Niksar’s position in the 1. Ligi standings and gives them a useful away victory. For Ziraat Bankasi 2, the defeat is a frustrating one because they competed well for long stretches, but they will need to find more consistency in serve-receive to convert those efforts into points.
