Zeren Spor 2 Women vs Ankara BBSK W: Ankara BBSK Win 3-1 After Comeback

Ankara BBSK W recovered from a first-set setback to beat Zeren Spor 2 Women 3-1 in their 1. Ligi Women match on October 24, 2026. The visitors lost the opening set but responded with three straight set wins, showing composure and attacking depth to take an important away victory.

Match overview

Zeren Spor 2 Women made the brighter start and took the first set with a confident performance. Their serving put Ankara BBSK under pressure, and the home side’s attackers found space at the net. At that stage, the match looked set to be a close, momentum-driven contest.

Ankara BBSK, however, adjusted well. They improved their reception, reduced errors and began to control the longer rallies. From the second set onward, the visitors looked the stronger team and gradually took command of the match.

The set-by-set scoreline was:

• Set 1: Zeren Spor 2 Women 25-22
• Set 2: Ankara BBSK W 25-20
• Set 3: Ankara BBSK W 25-18
• Set 4: Ankara BBSK W 25-19

The final three sets underlined Ankara’s growing control. Zeren’s early energy faded as the visitors’ block and defence tightened, and the away side closed out the match without needing a deciding set.

Key moments

The second set was crucial. After losing the opener, Ankara BBSK needed a response, and they found it through better first contact. A series of strong serves and well-built attacks helped them build a lead in the middle of the set. Once they levelled the match, the pressure shifted back to Zeren.

In the third set, Ankara’s block began to dominate. Zeren’s outside hitters were forced into tougher angles, and the visitors converted defensive stops into quick transition points. The fourth set followed a similar pattern, with Ankara maintaining a narrow lead before pulling away late.

Tactical story

Ankara BBSK’s comeback was built on serve-receive stability. As the match progressed, their setter was able to use the middle more effectively, which opened up one-on-one opportunities on the wings. Their serving also became more aggressive without losing accuracy, making it difficult for Zeren to settle into their attacking rhythm.

Zeren Spor 2 Women showed promise in the first set, especially when their serve was firing. But they struggled to maintain that level once Ankara adjusted. Too many rallies ended with forced errors, and the home side’s block was less effective as the match wore on.

Standout performers

Ankara BBSK’s outside hitters were central to the comeback, carrying the team through the tight moments in the second and third sets. The middle blockers grew into the match and gave the visitors a strong presence at the net. Their libero also produced several important defensive plays that kept rallies alive.

For Zeren Spor 2 Women, the first-set performance was a reminder of their potential. Their opposite hitter caused problems early on, and the team’s serving gave Ankara trouble in the opening set. The challenge will be to sustain that level across four or five sets.

Season impact

The 3-1 win is a strong result for Ankara BBSK W in the 1. Ligi Women standings. Away victories of this kind build confidence and show that the team can respond when it loses the opening set. Ankara will take particular encouragement from their improved serving and blocking as the match progressed.

Zeren Spor 2 Women will be disappointed to have let the match slip after a positive start. The result leaves them with lessons to learn in maintaining intensity and problem-solving when the opponent raises their level. The next fixture will be an important chance to respond.
