Bahcelievler set the tone

Bahcelievler started with clear intent, serving aggressively to disrupt Vakifbank 2’s young reception line. The visitors’ block followed the ball well, and their outside hitters found space down the line and through the seam. Vakifbank 2 showed flashes of quality, particularly through quick middle attacks, but Bahcelievler’s defensive discipline gave them the edge in the first set, which they won 25-20.

The second set was more one-sided. Bahcelievler’s serve continued to create problems, and their transition attack was sharper. Vakifbank 2 struggled to string together side-outs, allowing the visitors to build a comfortable lead. Bahcelievler closed the set 25-18 and moved firmly in control of the match.

Key moments

Vakifbank 2 produced their best volleyball in the third set. A more aggressive service game and better block positioning helped them stay close, and the set remained tight into the closing stages. At 22-22, Bahcelievler’s experience showed. A well-placed serve forced a poor reception, and the visitors converted the next transition point to edge ahead. They sealed the set 25-23 with a clean attack through the middle.

The final point underlined the difference between the teams on the night: Bahcelievler stayed calm under pressure, while Vakifbank 2 rushed their attacking choices in the decisive rallies.

Standout performers

Bahcelievler’s outside hitter Melis Aydin led the scoring with 17 points and was especially effective in transition. Middle blocker Selin Demir added five blocks and controlled the net in the middle. For Vakifbank 2, Zeynep Kaya was the most consistent scorer with 12 points, but the home side lacked the same balance in attack across all three sets.

Tactical story

The match was shaped by Bahcelievler’s serving strategy. By targeting Vakifbank 2’s outside receivers, they limited the home side’s ability to run quick attacks and forced more predictable high-ball situations. Bahcelievler’s block then had time to set, and their defence picked up several crucial touches. Vakifbank 2 improved in the third set but could not sustain that level long enough to extend the match.

Season impact

The three points boost Bahcelievler’s position in the 1. Ligi Women standings and reinforce their credentials as a team capable of winning on the road. For Vakifbank 2 Women, the defeat highlights the importance of reception stability and decision-making in tight sets. The reserve side will need to respond quickly, while Bahcelievler can take confidence from a disciplined and complete team performance.
