Kladno Women delivered a controlled 3-1 victory over Nusle Women in their 1. liga Women fixture, using aggressive serving and a strong block to take the match on the road. The visitors dropped the second set but responded with authority, closing out the contest in four sets and strengthening their position in the early-season standings.

Final score: Nusle Women 1-3 Kladno Women (21-25, 25-22, 18-25, 20-25).

Match Overview

Kladno set the tone from the opening serve, applying pressure on Nusle’s reception line and forcing the home side into predictable attacking patterns. Nusle stayed within touching distance for much of the first set, but a late Kladno run created the separation needed to take it 25-21. The second set was a different story: Nusle improved their first contact, found better rhythm through the middle, and levelled the match with a 25-22 win.

The momentum shift did not last. Kladno re-established control in the third set, tightening their block and attacking with more variety from the wings. Nusle struggled to contain the visitors’ outside hitters, and Kladno moved ahead 2-1 with a 25-18 set. The fourth set was more competitive, but Kladno’s composure in the closing points proved decisive as they sealed the match 25-20.

Key Moments

• First set, 18-18: Kladno produced a decisive serving run and a pair of block touches to pull away late.
• Second set, 23-22: Nusle held their nerve in a tight finish, converting a transition attack to level the match.
• Third set, 12-10: Kladno won a long rally and followed with three straight points, breaking the set open.
• Fourth set, 18-18: Kladno closed with a 7-2 run, capped by a clean kill from the right side.

Tactical Story

The match turned on serve and reception. Kladno consistently targeted Nusle’s left-side passers, limiting the home team’s ability to run a fast middle attack. When Nusle managed to keep the ball in system, they were competitive, especially in the second set. But Kladno’s block adjusted well to Nusle’s outside swings, and their defensive transition created repeat scoring chances.

Nusle’s best spell came when they shortened their swings and used the block more patiently. That approach worked for a set, but Kladno’s serving depth and greater attacking balance allowed them to regain the initiative. In the final set, Kladno’s decision-making under pressure was the difference.

Standout Players

Kladno outside hitter Tereza Nováková led the attack with 19 points, including three aces, and was particularly effective in the closing stages. Middle blocker Petra Kolářová added five blocks and gave Kladno a strong presence at the net. Nusle captain Lucie Dvořáková fought hard for 15 points, while setter Barbora Němcová kept the home side competitive with a number of well-timed distribution choices.

Standings Impact

The win gives Kladno Women valuable road momentum in the 1. liga Women campaign and reinforces their credentials as a side capable of winning away from home. For Nusle Women, the result highlights the importance of reception consistency; when their first contact held up, they matched Kladno for long stretches. The home side will need to rediscover that level more consistently in their next outing.
