• Final score: Hradec Kralove Women 3-1 Prostejov B Women
• Set scores: 25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 25-19

Hradec Kralove started with purpose and used a steady serve-receive game to keep Prostejov B under pressure. The visitors stayed close through the first set, but the home side found the extra attacking edge late on. Prostejov B responded well in the second set, winning a tight finish, but Hradec Kralove reasserted control after the interval and never allowed the match to drift into a deciding set.

Key moments

The first set was level at 18-18 before Hradec Kralove created separation with a short serving run and two well-built transition attacks. Prostejov B answered by taking the second set 25-23, capitalising on a brief dip in the home side’s first-ball control. The third set proved decisive: Hradec Kralove jumped ahead early, forced Prostejov B into predictable outside attacks and closed the set comfortably. In the fourth, the home team maintained a two-to-three-point cushion before pulling away in the final stretch.

Tactical story

Hradec Kralove’s serving strategy was central to the win. The home team targeted the visiting reception line and mixed short and deep serves to disrupt Prostejov B’s setter. That pressure allowed Hradec Kralove’s middle blockers to stay active at the net and turned several defensive touches into quick counterattacks. Prostejov B showed good resilience in the second set, especially through its block, but the team struggled to sustain that level once Hradec Kralove tightened its reception and side-out game.

Standout performers

Hradec Kralove’s opposite hitter delivered important points in the tight moments, while the libero helped stabilise the back court during Prostejov B’s best spell. The home captain also managed the tempo well in the third and fourth sets, keeping the attack balanced between the pins and the middle. For Prostejov B, the outside hitter was the most consistent attacking outlet, but the visitors were unable to convert enough defensive plays into scoring chances.

Season impact

The 3-1 win strengthens Hradec Kralove’s position in the 1. liga Women standings and gives the squad momentum ahead of its next fixtures. Prostejov B will take encouragement from the second-set response, but the loss leaves the team looking for greater consistency in reception and late-set execution. The head-to-head result also gives Hradec Kralove a useful psychological edge in the race for a strong league finish.
