VK Liberec Women vs VK Prostějov Women: Liberec Deliver Statement 3-0 Win

VK Liberec Women produced one of the standout results of the Extraliga Women round by sweeping traditional power VK Prostějov Women 3-0 on 25 October 2026. The 25-23, 25-21, 25-19 victory was built on aggressive serving, disciplined blocking and a home crowd that sensed an upset from the opening set.

Prostějov entered the match as one of the most respected sides in Czech women’s volleyball, but Liberec refused to be overawed. The hosts played with freedom and precision, especially in the first set when they saved a late set point before taking the lead. That momentum carried into the rest of the match.

Match Overview

The first set was the closest of the night. Prostějov led for much of it and looked set to edge ahead, but Liberec’s defence held firm in the closing rallies. Once the hosts took the opener, the match changed. Liberec served with more confidence, their block began to read Prostějov’s attack, and the visitors were forced into uncharacteristic errors. The second and third sets followed a similar pattern: Liberec built mid-set leads and protected them with calm side-out play.

Key Moments

• First set, 23-23: Liberec saved a set point with a block before winning the next two rallies to take the opener.
• Second set, 13-12: A run of three aces from the home side’s jump server opened the first real gap.
• Third set, 18-15: Liberec’s middle blocker produced two consecutive blocks that broke Prostějov’s resistance.

Tactical Story

Liberec’s game plan was clear: serve hard, keep Prostějov away from the middle and trust the block to handle the resulting outside attacks. It worked exceptionally well. Prostějov were rarely allowed to settle into their preferred rhythm, and their setter often had to play from poor reception. Liberec’s transition game was also sharper, with their outside hitters finding space against a visiting block that struggled to close consistently.

Standout Players

Liberec’s Kristýna Procházková led the attack with 15 kills, repeatedly scoring from the left side in key moments. Michaela Horáková added four aces, while Kateřina Vítková controlled the net with five blocks. For Prostějov, Klára Benešová was the most reliable attacking option, but the visitors lacked their usual balance and were unable to find a consistent answer to Liberec’s serving pressure.

Season Impact

This is a result that will be felt across the Extraliga Women standings. A 3-0 win over Prostějov sends a clear message about Liberec’s ambitions and gives them confidence for the tougher stretches of the season. For Prostějov, the defeat is a setback, but their quality is well established; the challenge will be to improve their reception and block coordination before the next round.
