• Set 1: SZBBRA Women 25-20
• Set 2: SZBBRA Women 25-22
• Set 3: MCM Kaposvari Women 25-21
• Set 4: SZBBRA Women 25-18

Key Moments

The third set was the most competitive of the night, with Kaposvari saving several points through determined defence. Their outside hitter found success against the block and their setter began to use the middle more effectively. However, the momentum shifted early in the fourth set when SZBBRA’s captain produced two consecutive blocks, sparking a run that took the score from 6-5 to 11-5.

From there, SZBBRA controlled the tempo. A service run from their opposite hitter stretched the lead to 18-11, and although Kaposvari saved two match points, the home side closed it out on a quick middle attack.

Tactical Story

SZBBRA’s serving strategy targeted Kaposvari’s outside hitters, reducing the quality of their first-tempo options. That allowed SZBBRA’s middle blockers to stay disciplined and form a strong double block on the wings. In attack, SZBBRA used a balanced distribution, keeping Kaposvari’s defence guessing and creating one-on-one opportunities for their opposite hitter.

Kaposvari’s best spell came when they increased their serve pressure and forced SZBBRA into out-of-system plays. But they could not sustain that level, and SZBBRA’s adjustments in the fourth set — particularly a more aggressive block line and quicker transition attacks — proved decisive.

Standout Performers

SZBBRA’s opposite hitter was the leading points scorer, combining powerful attacks with smart tipping. Their middle blocker controlled the net with several key blocks, while the libero provided stability in the back court. For Kaposvari, the outside hitter fought hard throughout, and the setter kept the team organized during their best spell in the third set.

Standings Impact

The win strengthens SZBBRA Women’s position in the Extraliga Women standings and gives them valuable momentum. MCM Kaposvari Women leave without a point but can take encouragement from their third-set performance. Both teams will now look ahead to their next fixtures, with SZBBRA aiming to build on a solid all-round display.
