Slavia Bratislava Women produced a composed, high-control performance in the Extraliga Women on 24 October 2026, sweeping SVK Pezinok Women 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-16). The Bratislava side dictated the tempo from the first serve and never allowed Pezinok to build enough momentum to threaten a comeback.

Match overview

Slavia opened with clear intent, pressuring Pezinok’s reception with a mix of deep floats and short serves. That early pressure helped the hosts build a lead in the first set, and their block followed the ball well in transition. Pezinok improved in the second set and stayed within touching distance for long stretches, but Slavia’s sideout consistency and composure in the closing points proved decisive. The third set was the most one-sided of the night, as Slavia pulled away early and closed the match without allowing Pezinok a route back into the contest.

Key moments

• A tight 12-12 start in the first set turned into a decisive Slavia run, built on two blocks and a pair of Pezinok attacking errors.
• Pezinok briefly led in the second set, but Slavia responded with a 6-2 burst to regain control at the business end.
• In the third set, Slavia’s early 8-3 advantage forced Pezinok into a timeout, and the hosts maintained a comfortable cushion thereafter.

Tactical story

The match was shaped by Slavia’s serve-and-block combination. By keeping Pezinok away from the middle of the net, the hosts forced more predictable outside attacks and were able to set their block early. Slavia’s transition game also stood out: when the first defensive touch was clean, the setter varied the attack well enough to keep Pezinok’s blockers moving. Pezinok’s best spells came when they slowed the tempo and attacked through the middle, but those moments were too brief to alter the overall direction of the match.

Standout players

Slavia’s outside hitter Nina Kralova led the attack with 14 kills and carried a heavy load in the front row. Middle blocker Petra Malikova added five blocks and gave the hosts a strong presence at the net, while setter Lucia Hruskova distributed the ball efficiently and kept Pezinok guessing. For Pezinok, the fight came mostly from the back-row defence, but the team lacked enough terminal attacks to stay with Slavia over three sets.

Season impact

The straight-sets win gives Slavia Bratislava Women an important boost in the Extraliga Women standings and reinforces their reputation as a difficult team to beat at home. For SVK Pezinok Women, the result is a reminder that they must improve their first-contact consistency if they are to compete with the league’s stronger sides. Slavia will take confidence from the clean sweep, while Pezinok will need a quick reset ahead of their next fixture.
