The visitors responded with a more physical block and a patient transition game, forcing the match into a fifth set. Both teams traded long rallies, but Brno's ability to score from the right side and through the middle in critical moments proved the difference. NVC CVS had chances to steal the match in the fourth set and carried momentum into the decider, but the home side's composure held.

Key Moments and Turning Points

The fourth set was the match's most dramatic chapter. NVC CVS trailed late but rattled off four of the final six points, capped by a sharp angle kill from the left side. That forced the fifth set and silenced the home crowd for a moment.

In the decider, Brno's setter changed the rhythm by involving the middle attackers earlier. A block at 8-6 and an ace at 11-8 gave the hosts the cushion they needed. NVC CVS saved one match point, but Brno's opposite hitter terminated the next rally to seal the 3-2 win.

Tactical Story: Serving Pressure Meets Blocking Adjustments

KP Brno's game plan revolved around serving to NVC CVS's left-side passers, limiting the visitors' ability to run their quick middle attack. When NVC adjusted with better first contact, the match tilted in their favour during the second and fourth sets.

NVC CVS countered with a higher block and more disciplined floor defence, but Brno's variety in transition helped them avoid becoming one-dimensional. The home team finished with a slight edge in blocks and aces, two categories that often decide five-set matches.

Standout Performances

Brno's opposite hitter delivered a match-high 24 points, including five kills in the fifth set. Their captain and setter kept the offence balanced, while the libero produced several key digs in the backcourt. NVC CVS were led by their outside hitter, who recorded 21 points and carried the attack during the visitors' best stretches.

What the Result Means in the Extraliga Women Table

The 3-2 victory moves KP Brno Women into a stronger early-season position and reinforces their reputation as a tough home side. NVC CVS Women will take encouragement from earning a point on the road, but they will also rue missed opportunities in the fourth set.

With the Extraliga Women season still taking shape, both clubs will view this match as a benchmark. For Brno, it is proof they can survive a five-set test. For NVC CVS, it is a reminder that small margins separate victory from defeat in one of Europe's most competitive women's volleyball leagues.
