The result strengthens Brusno’s position in the Extraliga Women standings and gives them an important home win against a competitive Presov side. Brusno’s serving and blocking were decisive for much of the match, while Presov’s best spell came in the second set when they briefly levelled the contest.

Match Overview

Brusno started confidently and took the opening set 25-19. Their serve put Presov under pressure, and their block was well organised against the visitors’ outside attack. Presov responded well in the second set, improving their reception and finding more consistency in transition. A tight set went their way 25-23, bringing the match level.

The third set was crucial, and Brusno regained control. They reduced their unforced errors and began to win the key rallies, taking the set 25-21. With the momentum back on their side, the hosts closed out the match in the fourth set 25-18, securing a 3-1 victory.

Key Moments

• Strong opening: Brusno took the first set 25-19 with aggressive serving and solid net defence.
• Presov’s response: The visitors improved in the second set and edged it 25-23 to level the match.
• Third-set control: Brusno regained the initiative and won 25-21 to move ahead 2-1.
• Closing set: The hosts maintained their advantage and finished the match 25-18.

Tactical Story

Brusno’s success was built on serve pressure and disciplined blocking. They targeted Presov’s reception lines effectively, forcing the visitors into predictable attacking patterns. When Presov’s first tempo was disrupted, Brusno’s block was able to set up and create transition opportunities. That pattern was especially clear in the first, third and fourth sets.

Presov’s best volleyball came in the second set, when they managed to keep the ball in play and involve their outside hitters more consistently. However, they could not sustain that level after the interval. Brusno’s setter managed the offence well, mixing the middle attack with pin options and keeping Presov’s block uncertain.

Standout Performers

Brusno’s opposite hitter delivered a strong all-round performance, scoring important points in each set the hosts won. Their middle blockers made a significant impact at the net, particularly in the third set when Brusno re-established control. The libero also contributed with steady defensive play during Presov’s stronger spells.

For Presov Women, the outside hitters worked hard and helped the team take the second set. Their libero produced several good defensive efforts, but Presov needed more consistency from the service line and in transition to challenge Brusno over four sets.

Season Impact

The 3-1 win gives Brusno Women three important points in the Extraliga Women and reinforces their home form. Winning after losing a set is a useful sign of maturity, and the hosts will take confidence from their ability to reset and close out the match in four.

Presov Women leave empty-handed but can take positives from their second-set performance. Their challenge will be to maintain that level for longer periods. For Brusno, the focus will be on carrying the same serving and blocking standards into their next league fixture.
