• Set 1: Usti 25-22
• Set 2: Odolena Voda 25-23
• Set 3: Usti 25-19
• Set 4: Usti 25-21

Key Moments

Usti made the first significant move late in the opening set, breaking away from a tight scoreline with a short serving run and a well-timed block. Odolena Voda responded well in the second set, edging a tense finish to level the match and briefly shift the momentum.

The third set proved to be the turning point. With the score level in the middle part of the set, Usti increased its service pressure and forced Odolena Voda into a series of difficult side-out situations. Once the hosts built a four-point cushion, they managed the closing points calmly. In the fourth set, Odolena Voda threatened to extend the match, but Usti’s block-defense connection held firm down the stretch.

Tactical Story

Usti’s serving strategy was central to the win. The home side targeted the opposition’s reception lines aggressively, limiting Odolena Voda’s ability to run a full attacking game through the middle. That allowed Usti to load up defensively on the outside and convert transition opportunities with greater efficiency.

Odolena Voda competed well at the net and showed good resilience after losing the first set, but the visitors struggled to sustain their attacking rhythm across four sets. Usti’s ability to reset after the second-set loss was a sign of maturity, and the hosts’ lower error count in the final two sets made the difference.

Standout Performers

Usti’s opposite hitter delivered important points in each of the closing sets, while the home middle blockers gave the team a steady presence at the net. The Usti setter also deserves credit for spreading the attack and keeping Odolena Voda’s block guessing.

For Odolena Voda, the outside hitters carried much of the scoring load and kept the visitors within touching distance for long stretches. The team’s libero was busy throughout and produced several impressive defensive plays, but Odolena Voda could not quite match Usti’s efficiency in the decisive moments.

Season Impact

The 3-1 win strengthens Usti’s position in the Extraliga table and gives the team momentum heading into its next fixtures. For Odolena Voda, the performance showed enough attacking quality to suggest better results are within reach, but the club will need to improve its consistency in serve-receive to convert tight matches into points.
