Karlovarsko produced a dominant home display in the Czech Extraliga on 25 October 2026, sweeping Liberec 3-0 with a controlled performance across all three sets. The 25-19, 25-21, 25-18 victory was built on serve pressure, a steady block and efficient attacking in transition, and it gave the hosts a comfortable result without needing a fourth set.

Match overview

Karlovarsko set the tone immediately, taking an early lead in the first set and never allowing Liberec to settle. The home side’s serving kept the visitors out of system, and the block followed up well at the net. Liberec improved in the second set and stayed within touching distance for long stretches, but Karlovarsko found another gear around the 20-point mark. The third set was the most one-sided, with the hosts pulling away early and closing the match in convincing fashion.

• Set 1: Karlovarsko 25-19
• Set 2: Karlovarsko 25-21
• Set 3: Karlovarsko 25-18

Key moments

The second set was the closest of the night and the most important psychologically. Liberec briefly led at 14-12 and looked capable of turning the match into a longer battle. Karlovarsko responded with a run of points built on strong serving and two blocks in quick succession, reclaiming the lead and forcing a Liberec timeout. From there, the hosts managed the set well and carried that momentum into a one-sided third set.

Tactical story

Karlovarsko’s game plan was clear: serve aggressively, force Liberec into predictable attacking situations and let the block do the rest. The hosts won several long rallies by staying patient in defence and converting transition chances through the middle. Liberec struggled to establish their own block, particularly when Karlovarsko varied the attack between the pins and the middle. The visitors’ reception improved in patches, but they could not sustain enough pressure to seriously threaten the result.

Standout performers

Karlovarsko’s opposite Martin Šimek led all scorers with 17 points, attacking efficiently from the right side. Middle blocker Ondřej Beneš was a major presence at the net with six blocks, while setter Filip Dvořák kept a balanced distribution and repeatedly found the right matchup. For Liberec, Jan Doležal finished with 12 points, but the visitors lacked the same consistency in attack and were often forced into low-percentage swings.

Season impact

The straightforward 3-0 win gives Karlovarsko a full three points and reinforces their home-court strength in the Extraliga. Liberec leave empty-handed but showed enough in the second set to suggest they can compete when their reception holds. For Karlovarsko, the challenge now is to carry the same serve-and-block discipline into tighter road matches, where the margins are likely to be smaller.
