Ceske Budejovice produced a clinical road performance to defeat Benatky 3-0 in the Extraliga on 25 October 2026. The visitors won 25-21, 25-19 and 25-22, combining efficient attacking with disciplined serving and a strong block.

Match overview

Ceske Budejovice controlled the match from the early stages, applying pressure with their serve and forcing Benatky into uncomfortable attacking situations. The first set was competitive until the midpoint, but the visitors pulled away with a series of strong serves and well-executed transition attacks. Benatky tried to respond in the second set, but Ceske Budejovice’s block continued to create problems.

The third set was the closest of the night, with Benatky staying within touching distance for much of the frame. However, Ceske Budejovice remained composed in the decisive rallies and closed out the straight-set win. The result gives the visitors three important Extraliga points and leaves Benatky searching for solutions ahead of their next fixture.

Set-by-set

• First set – 25-21 Ceske Budejovice: The visitors took control in the middle of the set and held their advantage.
• Second set – 25-19 Ceske Budejovice: Strong serving and blocking helped the visitors double their lead.
• Third set – 25-22 Ceske Budejovice: Benatky improved, but Ceske Budejovice won the clutch points.

Tactical story

Ceske Budejovice’s serving strategy was central to the victory. By targeting Benatky’s reception lines, they reduced the home side’s ability to run a varied attack. That allowed the visiting block to focus on the pins and win points in transition. Ceske Budejovice also managed their error count well, refusing to give Benatky easy points during the key stretches of each set.

Benatky had spells of good play, particularly in the third set, when their outside hitters found more success. But their inability to sustain serve-receive quality proved costly. When the match reached its decisive moments, Ceske Budejovice had more options and greater clarity in attack.

Standout players

Ceske Budejovice’s leading scorer delivered a consistent performance across all three sets, while the setter’s distribution kept Benatky’s block off balance. The visitors’ libero also played an important role, stabilising the defense during Benatky’s best spells. For Benatky, the top scorer worked hard but received limited support in attack.

Season impact

The straight-set win strengthens Ceske Budejovice’s position in the Extraliga standings and adds momentum to their campaign. A 3-0 away result is particularly valuable in a league where road matches can shape the table. Benatky, meanwhile, will need to improve their reception and side-out consistency to avoid similar defeats in the coming rounds.
