Key moments

The first set was closely fought, with Somas Activia holding a narrow 20-17 lead before closing it out. The second set proved to be the turning point. Sneek moved ahead 16-12 and held off a brief Somas Activia response to level the match. In the third set, the teams were tied at 18-18 before Sneek produced a decisive 7-1 run, and the visitors carried that momentum into the fourth, opening a 10-5 advantage and never looking back.

Tactical story

Sneek’s mid-match adjustment was clear: they served more aggressively to disrupt Somas Activia’s first-tempo attack and forced the home side into more predictable outside swings. That allowed Sneek’s block to set up better and their defenders to read the play. Somas Activia, by contrast, struggled to maintain their early rhythm once the reception became less clean. Their block created some moments of resistance, but too many loose touches in transition gave Sneek extra opportunities.

Standout performers and season impact

Sneek’s opposite hitter delivered important points during the second and third sets, while the middle blockers grew into the match and made a bigger impact at the net as it progressed. The libero was also influential, extending rallies and giving Sneek the chance to counter. For Somas Activia, the first set showed what the team can do when reception holds, but the next step is finding that level for longer stretches.

The 3-1 result gives Sneek Women a strong away win and valuable momentum in the Eredivisie Women standings. Somas Activia Women leave with a competitive first-set performance but will need greater consistency in serve-receive and transition to turn tight sets into victories.
