Koll secured a 3-1 home victory over Tromsø in Norway’s Eliteserien on Sunday evening, October 18, 2026. The hosts won 25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 25-18, recovering from a third-set stumble to close out the match with a dominant fourth-set performance.

Match overview

Koll began the match with purpose, using their home crowd to fuel an energetic serving and blocking display. Tromsø grew into the contest and produced a strong response in the third set, but Koll reasserted control at the start of the fourth and never allowed their visitors back into the match. The 3-1 result gives Koll an important home win and leaves Tromsø with positives from their mid-match fightback but ultimately no points to show for the trip.

• Set 1: Koll 25-22 Tromsø
• Set 2: Koll 25-20 Tromsø
• Set 3: Koll 22-25 Tromsø
• Set 4: Koll 25-18 Tromsø

The win strengthens Koll’s position in the Eliteserien table and adds another solid home result to their season record. Tromsø, meanwhile, will take encouragement from their third-set recovery but will be frustrated by the way the fourth set slipped away.

Key moments

Koll controlled the opening set thanks to a mid-set surge, turning an 11-11 tie into a four-point lead through strong serving and quick transition attacks. The second set followed a similar story, with Koll’s block creating repeated opportunities and Tromsø struggling to find rhythm in offence. The third set was Tromsø’s best spell: they improved their first-pass quality, found success through the middle and capitalised on a brief dip in Koll’s concentration to take the frame 25-22. That momentum, however, did not carry into the fourth. Koll opened with a 6-2 run and maintained a comfortable cushion throughout, closing the match with their most complete set of the evening.

Tactical story

Koll’s victory was built on serve-and-block pressure. Their servers consistently tested Tromsø’s reception line, limiting the visitors’ ability to run a varied attack. When Tromsø were forced into high-ball situations, Koll’s blockers were well positioned to defend the sidelines. Koll also benefited from strong distribution from their setter, who kept the middle attack involved and created one-on-one opportunities for the pins. Tromsø’s third-set improvement came when they shortened their swings and used the block more intelligently, but Koll adjusted in the fourth by tightening their floor defence and reducing unforced errors.

Standout performers

Koll’s outside hitter was the match’s leading scorer with 19 points, delivering several crucial kills in the first and fourth sets. Their middle blocker also made a significant impact at the net with five blocks, while the libero produced a series of important defensive plays that kept rallies alive. For Tromsø, the opposite hitter fought hard throughout and finished with 15 points, and the setter showed composure in the third-set comeback. Still, Koll had the deeper pool of contributors on the night.

Season impact

The result gives Koll a valuable three-point haul in the Eliteserien standings and reinforces their home-court strength. Tromsø remain competitive but will need to convert improved spells into full sets if they are to climb the table. With the head-to-head now favouring Koll, both teams will continue their league campaigns with important fixtures ahead.
