Ziraat Bankasi started strongly and looked capable of taking control, but Altekma repeatedly found answers. The visitors forced a deciding set by winning the fourth, setting up a tense finish. In the end, the home side’s experience and serving quality in the fifth set made the difference.

Match Overview

The first set was competitive, with both teams trading points through the middle stage. Ziraat Bankasi’s block began to make an impact, and the home side’s serve created enough discomfort for Altekma to take the opener 25-22. The second set followed a similar pattern but with a different outcome: Altekma improved its attacking efficiency and edged a tight finish 25-23 to level the match.

Ziraat Bankasi responded impressively in the third set. The home side raised its serving pressure, forced Altekma into shorter attacks, and controlled the net. A strong run in the middle of the set gave Ziraat Bankasi a comfortable cushion, and the team closed it 25-18.

Altekma refused to fade. The visitors produced a determined fourth-set performance, improving their reception and finding success through the wings. Ziraat Bankasi stayed close, but Altekma made the key plays late in the set to win 25-21 and force a decider.

The fifth set was a test of nerve and execution. Ziraat Bankasi started better, using the home crowd’s energy and a couple of important blocks to build a small lead. Altekma stayed within touching distance, but the home side managed the side-out game well and pulled away to finish 15-11.

Tactical Story

Ziraat Bankasi’s serving was central to its victory. The home side was at its best when it served aggressively and forced Altekma into predictable attacking patterns. That allowed Ziraat’s block to set up more effectively, particularly in the third and fifth sets. In transition, the home team also had more success when the setter kept the middle involved.

Altekma’s resilience came from its ability to adjust. The visitors improved their reception after the first set and found more success when they attacked with pace from the wings. Their fourth-set win was built on better first contact and a willingness to take risks in the big moments. In the fifth, however, Ziraat Bankasi’s serve and block regained the upper hand.

Standout Performances

Ziraat Bankasi’s opposite and outside hitters carried a heavy scoring load, especially in the deciding set. The setter managed the offence well through a match with many momentum shifts, while the middle blockers provided crucial net defence. The home libero also made several important defensive plays in the longer rallies.

For Altekma, the performance will be remembered for its fighting spirit. The visitors could easily have fallen away after losing the third set, but they regrouped and forced a fifth. Their outside hitters found success in the second and fourth sets, and the team’s serving improved as the match progressed. The one-point return is a fair reward for a strong road performance.

Season Impact

The 3-2 win gives Ziraat Bankasi two points and keeps the team moving in the right direction in the Efeler Ligi standings. Five-set victories can be significant for morale, especially early in a campaign, because they test a team’s composure and depth. Ziraat Bankasi showed both in the final set.

Altekma leave with one point and plenty of encouragement. Taking a strong home side to five sets is a useful marker, and the visitors’ ability to respond under pressure will stand them in good stead. Both teams now turn to the next round with clear takeaways from a match that delivered everything expected from Turkey’s top men’s volleyball league: intensity, tactical adjustments, and a finish decided by the smallest margins.
