Stroitel Minsk delivered one of the most assured away performances of the Division A weekend, sweeping Soligorsk 3-0 on 24 October 2026. The Minsk side controlled the match from the opening serve, winning 25-18, 25-21, 25-19 to claim a straight-sets victory that strengthens their position near the top of the table.

Match overview

Soligorsk entered the fixture hoping to use home advantage to disrupt a Stroitel Minsk side known for its aggressive service game and disciplined block. Instead, the visitors imposed their rhythm early, moving the ball efficiently through the middle and forcing Soligorsk into a series of uncomfortable attacking situations. The 0-3 scoreline reflects not only Stroitel’s attacking quality but also their ability to keep the home side at arm’s length for long stretches.

How the sets unfolded

The first set set the tone. Stroitel Minsk broke away at 8-5 and never allowed Soligorsk to draw level again. Their serve-receive was crisp, and the outside hitters found space against a Soligorsk block that struggled to close the pins. A late run of three consecutive points, capped by a sharp cross-court kill, sealed the opener 25-18.

The second set was more competitive. Soligorsk improved their first-contact quality and stayed within two points until the mid-teens. At 16-16, Stroitel raised their serving pressure, targeting the seam between the libero and the left-side passer. Two aces and a block assist created a 20-16 cushion, and although Soligorsk saved two set points, Stroitel closed it out 25-21.

The third set followed a similar pattern. Stroitel Minsk jumped ahead 7-3 and maintained a comfortable margin. Soligorsk’s coach used both timeouts to try to disrupt the visitors’ momentum, but Stroitel’s transition game remained sharp. A final block on the right side ended the contest 25-19, completing a dominant 3-0 win.

Tactical story: serve and block

The match was decided at the service line and at the net. Stroitel Minsk served aggressively but intelligently, mixing short serves with deep floaters to keep Soligorsk’s setter away from the middle. That disruption limited Soligorsk’s ability to run their quick attack, making the home side more predictable on the wings. Defensively, Stroitel’s block was well-organised, often taking away the line and forcing Soligorsk’s hitters into low-percentage angles.

Standout performers

• Aliaksei Prakapovich led the Stroitel attack with a composed all-round display, contributing key kills in each set and serving well under pressure.
• Dzmitry Kavalenka controlled the middle, adding several momentum-changing blocks and keeping Soligorsk’s opposite hitter quiet.
• For Soligorsk, Mikalai Yarmalovich was the most consistent attacking outlet, but he lacked support as the match wore on.

Season impact

The victory gives Stroitel Minsk valuable momentum in the Division A standings and reinforces their reputation as one of the league’s most balanced teams. For Soligorsk, the defeat is a reminder that they must improve their serve-receive against top-tier opposition if they are to challenge for a higher finish. Stroitel will look to carry this form into their next fixture, while Soligorsk must regroup quickly before their next home outing.
