Clube K 2-3 Vitoria produced one of the most dramatic finishes of the Campeonato Nacional round on 25 October 2026, with Vitoria recovering from a 2-1 deficit to win a five-set road thriller. The visitors took the match 22-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 15-13, turning a tense evening into a valuable away result and a clear statement about their resilience in long matches.

Match overview

Clube K started with purpose in front of their home support, using an aggressive serve to keep Vitoria out of system and taking the opening set 25-22. Vitoria responded immediately, tightening their reception and finding more balance through the middle to level the match with a 25-23 second set. The home side regained control in the third, 25-20, but the match shifted again when Vitoria raised their block and began winning the long rallies that had earlier gone Clube K’s way.

The fourth set was the turning point. Vitoria built a narrow lead in the middle phase and held their nerve at 25-22 to force a tie-break. In the fifth, neither team led by more than two points until the final exchanges. Clube K saved one match point, but Vitoria closed it out 15-13 to complete a 2-3 victory.

Key moments

• First set: Clube K’s serving pressure created early separation and set the tone for a confident opening.
• Second set: Vitoria adjusted their reception line and levelled the match, preventing Clube K from building momentum.
• Fourth set: Vitoria’s block started to control the home attack, forcing Clube K into predictable swings from the wings.
• Tie-break: A late block and a composed transition kill gave Vitoria the decisive edge at 15-13.

Tactical story

The match was decided by small adjustments rather than a single dominant phase. Clube K were at their best when their serve disrupted Vitoria’s first tempo, but they struggled to sustain that pressure across five sets. Vitoria gradually improved their side-out efficiency and became more patient in transition, choosing high-percentage shots instead of forcing points against a set block.

Vitoria’s bench also played a role, with substitutions adding fresh legs at the net in the closing stages. Clube K’s error count rose in the fourth and fifth sets, and those extra points proved costly in a match separated by fine margins.

Standout players

Clube K’s opposite hitter carried much of the scoring load, especially in the first and third sets, while their libero kept several rallies alive with impressive floor defence. For Vitoria, the setter’s distribution in the final two sets was central to the comeback, and the middle blocker’s late block touches changed the shape of the tie-break.

Season impact

The win gives Vitoria an important road result in the Campeonato Nacional and reinforces their ability to compete in extended matches. For Clube K, the 2-3 defeat is a frustrating one after leading 2-1, but the performance still showed enough attacking quality to suggest they will be competitive in the coming rounds. In a league where away wins are often hard to come by, Vitoria’s five-set success could prove significant when the standings are reviewed later in the season.
